Occasional-Cortex Just Painted RONALD REAGAN & FDR As ‘Racists’ – Here’s Her ‘Reasons’

AOC just pissed off Democrats, Republicans, and everyone in the middle. Who does this chick think she is?
At the South by Southwest Conference in Austin over the weekend, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(D-NY) blasted two former presidents and all political moderates.
She took aim at Democrat President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, saying that his ‘New Deal’ policies were ‘racist’. Interesting that she based the name of her own Socialism Wish List on that ‘racist’ policy, eh? You’d think that maybe she’d want to distance herself from racism, but he was a Democrat, so I guess it’s ok.
OCASIO-CORTEZ: The New Deal was an extremely economically racist policy that drew little red lines around black and brown communities and it invested in white America. It allowed white Americans access to home loans that black Americans didn’t have access to, giving them access to the greatest source of intergenerational wealth.
She’s not wrong about the New Deal disproportionately hurting black Americans. Was FDR overtly racist? Well, if you look at his policies, that’s a mixed bag. FDR quietly reversed some of Woodrow Wilson’s overt racist policies banning African Americans from working for the federal government, but he did approve of the internment of Japanese Americans simply because of their race. He also approved the formation of the Tuskeegee Airmen. Biographers have also lamented that FDR was really great at hiding what he actually thought about things, instead doing what was politically expedient. Determining what was actually in his heart may well be left between FDR and God.
That said, racism isn’t anything new with the Democratic Party *cough*Woodrow Wilson*cough*, and it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon, either.

The freshman Congresswoman then took aim at the moderates in the middle that were attempting to seek consensus because she claims that they just maintain the status quo.
‘I think the thing that is really hard for people to sometimes see is that when we are on this path of a slow erosion and a slow, slow, slow, just like move away from what we’ve always been, we’ll be a hundred miles, you’ll, you know you won’t even realize that you’ve drifted a hundred miles,’ Ocasio-Cortez said. ‘So, when someone’s talking about our core, it’s like oh this is radical, but this isn’t radical, this is what we’ve always been.’
‘It’s just that now we’ve strayed so far away from what has really made us powerful, and just, and good, and equitable, and productive, and so I think all of these things sound radical compared to where we are, but where we are is not a good thing. And this idea of like 10 percent better from garbage shouldn’t be what we settle for. … It feels like moderate is not a stance, it’s just an attitude towards life of like ‘hmmm.” she added.
‘It’s just an attitude towards life of, like, ‘meh,’ she said as she shrugged her shoulders according to the New York Post. ‘We’ve become so cynical, that we view ‘meh,’ or ‘eh’ — we view cynicism as an intellectually superior attitude, and we view ambition as youthful naivete when … the greatest things we have ever accomplished as a society have been ambitious acts of visions, and the ‘meh’ is just worshiped now, for what?’

Interesting.
She’s saying that her ideas are what the Democratic Party always was? Hell no, chickie! AOC wants to impose the Green New Deal which could cost up to $94 TRILLION and turn back the technological clock a good 150 years, has suggested that the world will end in 12 years if we don’t adopt socialism, wants to abolish ICE, said that South Americans are ‘indigenous people’ to the United States and are therefore not illegal border crossers, wants to impose a massive tax hike, and has supported her anti-Semitic compatriots. (Well, to be fair, as mentioned earlier, that last one isn’t so out of the box for Democrats.)
That’s not mainstream, and Americans have not drifted from that. That was just never a thing that Democrats had believed.
So, compromise isn’t her thing, she’s just committed to radical activism.
Gotcha.
AOC then did the unthinkable — she told the Intercept’s Briahna Gray that President Reagan’s policies regarding the working class were ‘racist’ and ‘screwed over’ all working-class Americans.
Conservatives everywhere were outraged that she dared to claim that there was even a scintilla of racism surrounding Reagan’s policies. Especially since Reagan won his decisive victory by winning over blue-collar workers that generally voted Democrat.
OCASIO-CORTEZ: A perfect example of how special interests and the powerful have pitted white working-class Americans against brown and black working-class Americans in order to just screw over all working-class Americans is Reaganism in the ’80s when he started talking about ‘welfare queens’. So you think about this image of welfare queens and what he was really trying to talk about was … this like really resentful vision of essentially black women who were doing nothing, that were ‘sucks’ on our country. That’s not explicit racism but still rooted in a racist caricature. It gives people a logical reason to toss out the whole social safety-net and as a result, we’re all devastated.

Interesting that the socialist that is constantly spouting off on the ‘eat the rich’ blather is suddenly concerned about one group of people being pitted against another.
It must be ok if one is discussing victimized racial groups versus ‘white privilege’. Typical Democrat Identity Politics B.S., I guess.
Occasional-Cortex got eloquently dragged by Conservative Twitter over her ridiculous assertion about President Reagan:

AOC says Reagan was a racist. WTH is her definition of racist?
— James Hirsen (@thejimjams) March 10, 2019
It doesn’t matter, as long as she wins the Intersectional Lottery and can cash those Congressional Paychecks.
AOC’s career goal of becoming a ‘Champagne Socialist’ has now been realized.
.@AOC cheers for socialism while wearing $1000 suits and eating at 5 star restaurants. All provided to her by the benefits of Capitalism.
She wants you to suffer under high taxes and oppression while she thrives as a privileged congresswoman. #fixit

If @AOC is not an indictment of our education system, I don't know what is.

I guess when your historical knowledge only dates back 2018 it’s hard to remember things like Reagan amnesty. https://t.co/um31ac0fmJ

She wasn’t alive when Reagan was elected in a landslide and re-elected in a bigger landslide. Bu my Lord, @aoc is BRILLIANT!!! https://t.co/AYWFf4TPDY

I first voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 – he unified all workers for their economic advantage and success – the Blue Dog democrats supported him and he was relected in a landslide 1984 – apparently @AOC believes that Orwell's "1984" is a "how to" manual to rewrite history https://t.co/BjkyTkCQMf

Watch @AOC accuse President Ronald Reagan of utilizing racism to "screw over all working-class Americans." (Oh, so THAT explains how Reagan carried 49 states in '84. Black unemployment fell faster than did white unemployment. Black businesses grew faster than white owned ones.) https://t.co/riEfomYr2e

Here’s President Reagan’s farewell address:
Including everyone in this great American experiment? Yep, that totally sounds racist to me. [Insert eye roll here]
James Woods uses President Reagan’s words to smack down AOC:
