French Sleuths Blame ‘Short Circuit’ For Notre Dame Blaze – What About The 800+ Other Church Fires?

If we’re getting answers like this so soon after the fire, it makes us wonder — are we hearing the truth as it actually is, or the truth as political powers that be want it to be?

We find ourselves in at a curious place in history where Christian churches (and even some priests) have been openly targeted for violence, vandalism, or destruction by hostile actors, that overlaps with a point in history where we are not allowed to say anything in any way critical of Islam, or those who practice it.

Some of those destroying churches are motivated by the thinking associated with a certain well-known phrase that has been aggressively uttered in many terrorist incidents. (Let the reader understand.) In fact, ISIS has already pledged to ‘finish the job’, so to speak, on Notre Dame at some point in the future.

All we really want is an honest investigation so we know what the real problem we are facing is. Otherwise, how could we possibly hope to solve it?

A French judicial police official said investigators made an initial assessment of the cathedral Wednesday but haven’t begun to search its charred interior because of unresolved safety hazards.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly about the investigation, said the cathedral’s fragile walls were being shored up with wooden planks.

…As the ceremony took place, investigators continued looking for clues to what sparked the fire. The huge cathedral, including the spire that was consumed by flames and collapsed, was in the initial stages of a lengthy restoration.

Investigators so far believe the fire was accidental and are questioning cathedral staff and employees working on the renovation. About 40 people had been questioned by Thursday, according the Paris prosecutor’s office.

Fire officials warned that the building remains unstable and extremely dangerous, including for the construction workers who rushed to secure an area above one of the rose-shaped windows and other vulnerable sections of the fire-damaged structure.

Even the time lapse photos we’ve heard about stop short of revealing the precise cause:

Earlier on Thursday, police released time lapse footage from a camera installed just hours before Monday’s devastating blaze which was believed to contain vital clues as to what caused the inferno.

The camera was installed around 2pm by French scaffolding company Europe Echafaudage and was set to take photographs every 10 minutes. The fire broke out around 6.40pm.

Marc Eskenazi, a representative for Echafaudage, confirmed that smoke can be seen on some of the images and appears to start on the south side of the building.

The camera will not reveal the exact cause of the fire and where it started, Eskenazi said, but will point investigators in the direction of vital clues.

The camera is now in the hands of investigators.

Maybe this was just an electrical fire. Maybe not. But there is a reason we’re slow to buy the official story.

It’s awfully early in the game to have such conclusive proof unless the worker who ignited it has already owned up to his role in it, this seems an awfully early conclusion to draw.

Combine that with what we reported as the context for the first news of the fire, and there are still a great many unanswered questions — not just for this fire, which may indeed have been accidentally ignited — but for so very many others.
