Jussie Smollett’s Day Just Got RUINED – Here’s The 411

Those poor writers on Smollett’s show won’t know if they’re coming or going.

The politicians who thought they were ‘doing him a solid’… weren’t.

It looks like poor Jussie is now right back where he started. He could be facing exactly the same charges that his Hollywood elitist privilege and high political connections had helped him dodge — for a little while.

Actually, he isn’t back to square one. He’s taken a step back. Not only is his reputation taking a beating…

His reputation is ruined — even Chris Rock and SNL have turned him into punchlines:

But he’s facing a lawsuit for the expenses the City of Chicago incurred — $130,106 — chasing down his little Hate Hoax. And now, a Chicago attorney is calling for a Special Prosecutor to reinstate all sixteen of his charges, and look into any malfeasance or interference that may have been at play in having charges dropped in the first place.

The victim card has been his meal ticket before. Is there still some wiggle room for him to play the victim card here? Can he somehow blame this on a racist vendetta?

With the petition against him being submitted by one “Saani Mohammed”, that’ll be a firm ‘no’.

Mr. Mohammed is asking for a Special Prosecutor to look into the Smollett case.

Saying Foxx’s handling of the case was “plagued with irregularity,” Mohammed’s 10-page petition asked that presiding Criminal Court Judge Leroy Martin Jr. appoint a special prosecutor to investigate whether Foxx “acted to impede the investigation … concealed evidence, and/or intentionally misled the public.”

…The petition noted that no written agreement was entered in dropping the charges against Smollett and he was not required to admit any wrongdoing, allowing him to “perpetrate the same lie that formed the basis of the crime.”

“Indeed, Mr. Smollett now claims that the dismissal of the charges exonerates him and validates that he was not only the victim of a hate crime, but also that he was unjustly vilified and smeared by the Chicago police and the entire Cook County criminal justice system,” the petition said.

Mohammed also alleged that after communicating with a relative of Smollett and a “politically connected ally” of the actor’s family, Foxx improperly “used her position to intervene in the investigation” on his behalf. Even though Foxx acknowledged she stepped aside from the case because of the potential conflict, she failed to properly recuse herself and her office, he said.

He went on to describe Foxx’s failure to recuse herself even though she herself identified conflicts of interest.

Mohammed seems to be one of the few ‘good guys’ in this story. Whether the accused is innocent or guilty is for a court of law to decide, not well-connected partisans.

In a brief telephone interview Thursday, Mohammed said he filed the petition because “there has to be a way for the public to know that there’s no separate justice system for different classes of people.”

…He said he hopes that a special prosecutor will re-file the dismissed charges and “go back and do it the right way.”

“I just want to make sure that the right thing is done,” he said.

Unfortunately for Smollett — doing the right thing will require a judge and jury. Then the rest of us will get to find out whether our instincts have been right all along:

If Mohammed gets his wish, and the charges do get refiled, that’ll be good news for the rule of law.

But as for Smollett, his sob story, and the writers over on Empire — not so much.
