Forget What’s Behind And Reach Forward To What’s Ahead

Written by Doug Giles on May 23, 2019

The life we’re called to requires up to look forward, not backward. (Remember Lot’s wife.)

There’s more than one way to get imprisoned the past.

The first and most obvious way is to replay all of your past hurts and failures, never get past them, and miss out on everything good that could come next.

The OTHER, more insidious way, is to become Al Bundy, dissatisfied with his life today and reliving those ‘glory days’ of that championship game back in High School.

El Diablo really doesn’t care which of those ditches he can drive you into, so long as you don’t pose any threat to his scabrous backside TODAY.

Don’t fall for it.

We’ve all got things in our rearview mirror that cry out to be noticed. The good AND the bad. But all of it has one thing in common — it’s solidly in the past and (good or bad) you can’t change or repeat it.

What you CAN do, little Christian, is step up, and heed the words of San Pablo:

“but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead”

Rules For Radical Christians is not a survival devotional designed to help the young Christian adult limp through life. Rather, it is a road-tested, dominion blueprint that will equip the young adult with leadership skills and sufficient motivation to rise to a place of influence in an overtly non-Christian culture. Rules For Radical Christians gives the reader the keys to become strategically equipped to move into an anti-theistic environment and effectively influence it for the glory of God.
