Meryl Streep: Calling Masculinity ‘Toxic’ Hurts Boy And Women Can Be F**KING Toxic Too!

This ‘spicy take’ is going to make the next Hollywood function awfully awkward.

Meryl Streep just fish slapped a sacred Feminist cow.

Sorry, that’s not right. A sacred Feminist cow would probably be someone like Joy Behar or Hillary Clinton. What we MEANT to say was she fish slapped a ‘Feminist Sacred Cow’.

‘Oops.’

The problem is, Streep is a big enough Hollywood name, with so much clout that very few people will have the nerve to slap back at her directly.

There are very few times where we’ve agreed with her political stance on ANYTHING, but credit where it’s due, she just hit this one out of the park.

Meryl Streep has criticised the phrase “toxic masculinity”, saying it is offensive to men. “We hurt our boys by calling something toxic masculinity,” she said. “Women can be pretty fucking toxic … It’s toxic people.”

Streep was speaking at a panel discussion about the forthcoming second season of female-fronted show Big Little Lies, and brought the issue up after co-star Nicole Kidman recalled a male fan telling her about his enjoyment of the first series.

Continued Streep: “We have our good angles and we have our bad ones. I think the labels are less helpful than what we’re trying to get to, which is a communication, direct, between human beings. We’re all on the boat together. We’ve got to make it work.”

Well played, Ms Streep. You nailed it.

People are not ‘good’ or ‘bad’ because of what’s between our legs.

We’re ‘good’ or ‘bad’ because of what’s in our hearts and minds.

It’s nice to see someone in Hollywood has figured that out.

Now if only we could have someone realize the same thing about income, politics, and skin color.
