Obama’s Back And Talking Smack About GUNS

Does THIS sound like a former President of the United States to you?
On Thursday, Obama spoke at VTEX DAY, a digital convention in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and discussed his “most difficult day” referring to the Sandy Hook shooting. He continued saying that U.S. gun laws “don’t make much sense.”
Former president Barack Obama has claimed US gun laws ‘don’t make sense’.
The Democrat – who pushed for tighter restrictions during his two terms in office – said it was too easy ‘to buy machine guns.’

He then went on to spout some ridiculous half-truths and blatant lies about gun laws.
From the video:
OBAMA: I’ve said this before, the most difficult day that I’ve had was the day that there was a shooting in a school where 20 small children were shot, as well as some teachers. My daughters were only a little bit older than these young children that had been shot and I had to go and comfort the parents.
And some of you may be aware that our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon any time without, you know, with much, if any, regulation. They can buy over the internet. They can buy machine guns.
And for me, having to speak to parents who had lost a child just two days or a day after it had happened and not being able to assure them that that would change, that we would fix this. I couldn’t bring their children back, but I couldn’t even promise them that we would change the law so that this didn’t happen to somebody else’s children. That was a day of great frustration for me…
…But that was the day that was the most difficult for me.
As my teenage son would say, “BRUH?!”
Is this dude serious?
Watch:
While it’s true that you can buy “machine guns” in some states, it is incredibly difficult and extremely expensive. Since the regulation of fully-automatic weapons includes weapons made before 1986, there is a limited supply, they can cost upwards of $10,000, and the sales are heavily regulated. In order to purchase or transfer a machine gun in the United States, there is a mountain of paperwork that needs to be completed including a thorough federal background check and having the name of the owner listed on a national registry. This process currently takes approximately 16 months to complete.
Charles C. Cook over at The Federalist debunks Obama’s claim that there isn’t “much regulation” this way:
Obama’s claim that one can buy a gun “over the Internet” is also extremely misleading. One can, indeed, buy a gun “over the Internet,” but that gun is not shipped to one’s home in the way an Amazon package would be, but to a federally licensed firearms dealer who requires the end-buyer to fill in all the usual paperwork, to submit to a federal background check, and to complete the transaction in-person in exactly the same way as he would have had he walked in off the street. This has been the case since Obama was seven years old.
Look at that, a Democrat who doesn’t understand American gun regulations and is still pushing for more.
How unique.
I bet you miss this guy just as much as I do, amirite?
