Ah yes, the tolerant left are at it again. The question is, how seriously should we take this?
It’s really easy to play partisan hack with a story like this.
Look to the right of the politician’s name and see what bracketed letter follows it. You have one default answer if it’s an (R) and another, different one if it’s a (D).
That’s really our key objection to the current state of the Media(D).
The same people that turned Smollett’s bogus case into a national story that just wouldn’t die, buried an actual assassination attempt at a Republican baseball practice in a couple of days.
It would be a lot better if EVERYONE played by the same rules. That outrage shown stayed proportional whether the person being targetted is on ‘your’ team or the other one.
Here’s the account of what happened, generally:
Eric Trump, the son of President Donald Trump, was spit on by an employee of a Chicago bar Tuesday night, multiple sources told NBC 5. Eric Trump later confirmed the incident in a statement to NBC News.
The incident took place at around 8:30 p.m. at the Aviary, located at 955 W. Fulton Market. Sources said Eric Trump was a patron at the cocktail lounge when an employee approached and spit on him.

The actual incident was described this way:
According to sources familiar with the matter, Eric Trump had, with a group of people, come into Aviary, an upscale lounge in Chicago, and the young woman–an employee of the establishment–came right up to him and spit in his face. Per an eyewitness, she murmured inaudibly something that sounded like it was anti-Trump. Then Secret Service agents who were there protecting Eric Trump jumped into action and took the woman into custody. She was put in handcuffs and placed in a police paddy wagon, a source with knowledge said. Eric Trump decided not to press charges against the woman in the end, and she was released from police custody.

“It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems,” Trump said. “For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”

So, what should be done with the woman who did the spitting?
Since it was a Trump family member that was spat upon, most in the Resist crowd would gladly throw her a parade.
(After all, the PartisanPress hardly batted an eye when they were hit with an Anthrax scare.)
But had she done it to, say, Chelsea Clinton, she’d be immediately doxxed and would ‘never work in this town again’, if, that is, she wasn’t singled out for prosecution, dropped into a dark hole and immediately forgotten forever.
The reality of the situation lies somewhere in between.
