Democrat Stupidity That Makes You Say ‘Huh?!’

Biblical students are aware of the Hebrew style of writing called “Graded Numeric Sayings.” This style of writing is seen in Proverbs 30:18 where it says, “There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand.” I’m going to employ a “Graded Numeric Saying” approach to looking at some of the ridiculous things said by Democrats in the last week or so.

There are three examples of Democrat stupidity on display this week; four things that make my head spin.

The first of these comes from a “one percenter” in the Democrat polls, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). In Iowa with the hordes of other Democrat hopefuls, Gillibrand stated to The Des Moines Register that she would never consider a pro-life judge for the Supreme Court. That wasn’t enough, though. She pressed further, asserting that in 2019 to hold a pro-life position is like being a racist. Here are her own despicable words. “There is no moral equivalency when you come to racism. And I do not believe that there is a moral equivalency when it comes to changing laws that deny women reproductive freedom.”

I’m sure there is pressure for the bottom rungs of the Democrat hordes to distinguish themselves, but I’m not sure how calling half of the country the moral equivalents of racists is going to go for her.

The second example of stupidity comes from the top of the leaderboard among the Democrats, former Vice President Joe Biden. Biden, for much of his career in public life, supported the Hyde Amendment which prohibited federal funds to be used to pay for abortion. In a nod to his Catholic faith, Biden professed a personal aversion for abortion and didn’t think the federal government should pay for them. In an incredible reversal, Biden stunned some of his most loyal supporters, bowing to pressure from the Democratic Party’s liberal wing and abandoning a long and allegedly deeply held point of personal conviction.

The truth is Biden has no core beliefs. He has no center that guides and directs him. He is susceptible to the howling winds of progressivism. If he’s taking orders from Alyssa Milano, there’s not much credence to the mature statesman claim.

A third portrait of ridiculousness comes from the House Judiciary Committee and, especially, Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY). This committee, once historically chaired by Daniel Webster, held another hearing on the Mueller report, this one featuring witness John Dean. For those who may not remember, John Dean was President Nixon’s attorney who went to prison for four months for obstruction of justice in 1974. Yes, you read that right. 1974! Forty-five years ago! Rep. Nadler and his Democrat cohorts thought it would be good to set the impeachment stage with a “blast from the past.” What Nadler fails to understand is the public’s view of this. 53% of Americans, according to a CBS poll conducted in late May, want the Democrats to “move on” from the Mueller report.

Rep. Nadler fails, I suspect to the detriment of his party, to rightly gauge the pulse of the country. Only the radical progressives want to walk the impeachment road.

A fourth utterly stupid act from the Democrats comes from second or third tier candidate, Beto O’Rourke (D-TX). He appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and, after spinning his way out of the low poll numbers (he currently shows 2% in Iowa), O’Rourke told George Stephanopoulos, “If we do not hold the president accountable, we will have set the precedent that some people in this country because of their position of power, are in fact, above the law. … So regardless of the popularity of the idea, or what the polling shows us, we must proceed with impeachment so that we get the facts and the truth.”

The ridiculousness of that statement abounds. First, you don’t proceed with impeachment in order to get facts and truth. You have facts and truth in order to proceed to impeachment. Second, you must give O’Rourke credit for audacity. President Trump has not been charged with any crime and yet Beto says he must be held accountable. Accountable? For what? There is no crime. Oh, that’s right. For Beto and his people, Trump’s crime was to win the election in 2016. That’s what Beto wants to hold him accountable for.

Forrest Gump once said, “Stupid is as stupid does.” I’m thinking Forrest may have met some of 2019’s Democrats. What do you think?
