Great job ‘representing’ your national team on the world stage, chicka.
In the World Cup match against Thailand, our women’s soccer team absolutely routed them by a score of 13-0. It was humiliating for team Thailand. But even with the most lopside loss in World Cup history, they didn’t shame their country the way our American ‘star player’ did.
Megan Rapinoe made a point of not participating in the National anthem… while representing the National Team.
Unlike the rest of her team-mates, Rapinoe did not sing along to the Star-Spangled Banner and did not raise her hand to her heart.
Her decision not to sing the anthem resulted in a predictable slew of negative comments on social media – but Rapinoe’s stance is not new.
…And last month she told Yahoo Sports that she would “probably never sing the national anthem again.”
In the interview, Rapinoe explained that she was disappointed with the national conversation that stemmed from her decision to take a knee, as well as taking umbrage with the United States Soccer Federation’s decision to adopt a rule requiring players to “stand and honor the flag.”
The following comment, cited from Twitter by the DailyMail, no longer comes up on a search:
‘Megan Rapinoe needs to be booted for her lack of patriotism. Why play for a country you hate,’ one person tweeted.
A patriotic tweet critical of the Anti-Trump Left vanished?
What. A. Surprise.
But guess what? None of the snarky comments by the disgruntled few really matter. Because Trump keeps delivering the results he said he would.
So much winning.
If she likes complaining about Trump, we have good news for her — at this rate, she’ll be able to do so for another six years.
