Huffpo Claims It’s Not Just Women Who Get Abortions … No This Isn’t Satire

Written by Wes Walker on June 7, 2019

We officially live in a day where we need to specify in a headline when reporting of facts is NOT satirical in nature.

We’ve stepped through the looking-glass and we’re all now living in Lewis Carrol’s world. Or at least it’s sure starting to look that way.

With all buzz about the rights of the unborn these days– squabbles over whether they should be protected or aborted — Huffpo is concerned that one groups’ interests are being ignored.

That’s right — they’re concerned about the pregnant not-women, and their right to having abortions.

The use of ‘they’ in the following blockquote is not a grammatical error. It’s intentionally PC. The person they’re describing wanted an abortion pill but required a trans-vaginal ultrasound first.

Jack Qu’emi Gutiérrez was a 20-year-old college student in a self-described “shitty relationship” when they found out they were pregnant.

“I felt very, very much alone,” Gutiérrez told HuffPost. “I didn’t have any frame of reference for what an abortion would be like, period. Not to mention what an abortion would be like as a nonbinary person.”

Although Gutiérrez went to Planned Parenthood, they were constantly misgendered and there was no option for preferred pronouns or name on the intake form.

“I got called ‘Miss’ and ‘Ma’am’ all the time,” they said. “And [the staff] was super sweet to me, but I was too terrified to really sit down and have a conversation and say, ‘Hey, my pronouns are this and my identity is this, could you stop doing that?’ I was too busy going, ‘Holy shit, I’m in a clinic and I don’t know what to expect.’” (Planned Parenthood now offers preferred pronouns and gender identity options on their intake forms.)

…“To completely ignore a giant group of people that need access ― and who are already having a hard time going into health care spaces ― it is just mind-blowing to me, and it’s incredibly frustrating,” Gutiérrez said.

Honest question: is there something about the in-utero slaughter of the unborn that works differently when applied to someone whose psychology does not align with their biology than it does with all other women? Not bloody likely.

And yes, we said ‘women’. Because if you can bear a child, you clearly have a womb. However one might relate psychologically to your biological situation does not change the biological reality.

And we’re still supposed to take the ‘mainstream’ media seriously? Even when they’ve played their role leading this whole damned parade down the metaphorical rabbit hole?
