It’s been a tough week to be part of the Democrat #Resistance.
First, their ‘Christmas in July’ was a complete dud, and even they know it. (Remember them singing ‘we wish you a Mueller Christmas’? Their disappointment was delicious.)
And now, yet again, their judicial fiats have failed them… at least, for now.
Once again the Left tried to ‘resist’ Trump’s Article II powers, and once again the Supreme Court found in favor of Trump. At the very least, he has the power to Continue using those funds until objectors can make a case (still to be litigated) that Trump has no right to do so.
Remember, the Democrats have no real power, so they have exactly one objective: resist everything.
This decision was about Trump securing the borders and using Military budget to do so.
The decision allows the Defense Department money to be spent now while a court battle plays out over whether the government had the authority to divert funds that were not appropriated for the wall. The Supreme Court voted 5-4, along ideological lines, to allow the funds to be used while the court appeals proceed.
In a brief order, the court said it was ruling in favor of the Trump administration before the litigation has played out because the government had made a “sufficient showing” that the challengers did not have the legal right to bring the case.
Three members of the liberal wing of the court — Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan — wrote they would have blocked the funds for now. The fourth member, Justice Stephen Breyer, wrote separately to say he would have allowed the government to use the funds to finalize the terms for contractors but block the funds from being used for the actual construction.

More specifically:
The court’s five conservative justices gave the administration the green light on Friday to begin work on four contracts it has awarded using Defense Department money. Funding for the projects had been frozen by lower courts while a lawsuit over the money proceeded. The court’s four liberal justices wouldn’t have allowed construction to start.
The justices’ decision to lift the freeze on the money allows President Donald Trump to make progress on a major 2016 campaign promise heading into his race for a second term. Trump tweeted after the announcement: “Wow! Big VICTORY on the Wall. The United States Supreme Court overturns lower court injunction, allows Southern Border Wall to proceed. Big WIN for Border Security and the Rule of Law!”

These are powers every President since what, Carter, have used? But now that Trump is doing something with them that steps on their toes, they want the courts to stop him.
But somehow TRUMP is the one who is desperate to seize power that exceeds his Constitutional authority.
Seriously? Do none of the Democrats own any mirrors?
Or do they really think the American public is THAT dumb?

Insulting the American Electorate worked really well for you in 2016. Maybe you just need to do it even more loudly in 2020. It’s bound to work out, right?
