The rumors have been spreading in DC and on social media for a while now and they have been confirmed.
Freshman Congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar(D-MN) with her dizzying marital history has made headlines as “the other woman” in a divorce filing of a Democrat political operative and his wife.
Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett, 55, a physician, has said that the affair with Ilhan Omar, 37, is the reason for her divorce from her Democrat strategist husband, Tim Mynett, 38. Mynett had worked with former Congressman Keith Ellison and his successor, Rep. Ilhan Omar. Dr. Mynett said that she was shocked when he came clean about the relationship with Omar and his declaration of love for her back in April of this year. The couple had married in 2012 but had lived together for six years prior to that. They have a 13-year old son together.
Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett says her cheating spouse, Tim Mynett, told her in April that he was having an affair with the Somali-born US representative and that he even made a “shocking declaration of love” for the Minnesota congresswoman before he ditched his wife, alleges the filing, submitted in DC Superior Court on Tuesday.

“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the court papers say.
Rumors started swirling about Mynett and Omar when it was revealed that she had separated her husband, (that’s the one that’s not her brother,) moved out of her family home in Minnesota and into a swanky penthouse apartment.
Rep. Omar had been spotted holding hands with a “mystery man” at a secluded L.A. restaurant. in March. She was photographed exiting the Italian restaurant and the “mystery man” was later revealed to be Mynett.

Dr. Mynett has said that she was devastated at the news and wanted to repair the relationship, but her husband told her emphatically that it was over and they separated. She is now seeking primary custody of their teen son because of her estranged husband’s “extensive travel” with Omar as well as what she considered reckless disregard for her son’s safety being in the presence of Omar who has allegedly received death threats.
“Defendant’s more recent travel and long work hours now appear to be more related to his affair with Rep. Omar than with his actual work commitments,” the court papers state.
The doctor also argued that she doesn’t trust her estranged husband’s judgment with their son — in part because of his relationship with Omar.
“By way of example, days prior to Defendant’s devastating and shocking declaration of love for Rep. Omar and admission of their affair, he and Rep. Omar took the parties’ son to dinner in order to formally meet for the first time at the family’s favorite neighborhood restaurant while Plaintiff was out of town,” the papers state.
“Rep. Omar gave the parties’ son a gift and the Defendant later brought her back inside the family’s home,” the papers add.

As if the Ilhan Omar marital history wasn’t complicated enough, right?
She had one man that she was married to “in her faith tradition” had two children, then she allegedly separated from him and quickly (and legally) married a British national (who appears to be her brother) in a civil ceremony conducted by a Christian minister, and they all lived at the same address. Then, she separated from the second husband, reunites with her first husband, files her taxes with him and has her third child. Not until 2017 does Omar finally divorce her second husband and “reunites” with her first husband. But that was short-lived after she began an affair with Tim Mynett.
