Preacher Tells DNC That Bible and Constitution Endorse Socialism… Here’s Why He’s Wrong

Oh, really? And when, exactly, did Democrats start pretending to give a damn about Christianity?

Did the Democrats happen to notice that even ‘dependable’ Christian voters have abandoned them for Team Trump?

They spent more than a decade throwing us, and everything we stand for under the bus, but now that they’re up against it with Trump, they’re suddenly trying to browbeat believers into thinking Democrats somehow represent the MORAL example our Bible calls us to endorse?

Suddenly the same crowd that openly mocked the Bible for years is trying to wrap themselves in Christian Doctrine?

Is ANYONE really buying what these slobs are selling?

Here comes some preacher to preach about morality to an audience composed mainly of the Secular Left, which amounts to a religion in its own right.

(And does anyone ELSE think it looks like he ate a couple of other preachers on his way to this meeting, but hey, Gluttony’s just one of those ‘Seven Deadly Sins’, it isn’t something REALLY BAD, like forgetting to sort your paper and plastic or anything.)

He says:

When we embrace moral language, we must ask: does our policy care for the least of these? Does it lift up those who are the most marginalized and dejected in our society? Does it establish justice? That is the moral question.  If someone calls it socialism, then we must compel them to acknowledge that the Bible must then promote socialism. [Audience applause] Because Jesus offered free health care to everyone and he never charged a leper a copay. [Applause] If you wanna have — It’s time for us to say, if you wanna have a debate, bring it on, baby. The Bible says that every … the nation will be judged by how it treats the poor, and the sick, and women and the immigrant. The Bible says that God makes it rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you won’t quote Canon to promote socialism, then the Constitution promotes socialism. Because it CALLS us to promote the general welfare and to establish justice.

What this guy knows — or ought to know as a preacher — is that there is a world of difference to what the INDIVIDUAL believer is called to, and what national policy looks like. ROME wasn’t called to perform acts of charity… the Christian believers who lived under its iron boot were.

Unfortunately for Democrats, who have long since elevated the State to a position of religious authority, they are unable to tell the difference.

When an individual person gives willingly to an individual — family member, friend, neighbor — in need, it is an interaction that is redemptive in nature, one that has actual religious significance.

When the government puts a gun to your head, takes your money and gives it to someone who may or may not truly need it, that’s a transaction that doesn’t have moral worth to either party. There is neither sacrifice nor humble gratitude in that transaction. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, cultivating resentment in the giver and entitlement in the receiver.

For another thing, if he knew the first thing about Engles or Marx, he would know about their inherent opposition to Christianity.

Whether you call it socialism or communism, both of Marx’ and Engles’ bastard children are hostile to religion, which Marx famously called the ‘opiate of the masses’. Or did that pastor sleep through that particular history lesson?

In practice, that opposition ranges from open hostility to religious belief (like what we’re seeing from today’s Left toward any religious expression that won’t bow and kiss the ring of their latest socialist dogma.

In Soviet Russia, for example, The Gulag Archipelago reported that:

‘However, the root destruction of religion in the country, which throughout the twenties and thirties was one of the most important goals of the GPU-NKVD, could be realized only by mass arrests of Orthodox believers. Monks and nuns, whose black habits had been a distinctive feature of Old Russian life, were intensively rounded up on every hand, placed under arrest and sent into exile. They arrested and sentenced active laymen. The circles kept getting bigger as they raked in ordinary believers as well, old people, and particularly women who were the most stubborn believers of all and who, for many long years to come, would be called ‘nuns’ in transit prisons and in camps.

Socialism is about compulsion. With Christianity, even God holds as sacrosanct the free will and ability of people to reject him.

As for Justice? Justice means convicting the guilty and acquitting the innocent. It’s not about race and class, or a nanny-state government.

But then, when your ACTUAL god is the state, instead of the author of the Book, everything downstream from that original premise will be off base, too.

We’ve all seen the dishonest games the left have played with the power they’re entrusted with, they’re obviously unworthy of that trust.

But what about 2020? Could a moral person pull a lever for Trump with their integrity intact? Would Jesus himself vote for Trump? We’re glad you asked. There’s a brand new book that covers precisely that question:

“Would Jesus Vote For Trump?” by Doug Giles and Brandon Vallorani.

Would Jesus ever choose someone, with a less than stellar past, to be a leader? Would Jesus be cool with how Trump blasts CNN, The Left, and his feckless ‘compadres’ on The Right? What about Health Care? Would the Great Physician give Trump’s opposition to ObamaCare the ‘two thumbs up?’ Find out in this BEST-SELLER!
