Rashida Tlaib LIED About Her Trip To Israel And Is Now Playing The VICTIM — Here’s The 411

This wasn’t about visiting family, it’s a disgusting political stunt.
The outspoken member of “The Squad” has decided to not visit her grandmother in the West Bank despite being permitted to do so.
Yesterday it was reported that the visit to Israel by two members of “The Squad” — Rep. Ilhan Omar(D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib(D-MI) was not permitted by the Israeli government due to a 2017 law that does not permit foreign Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) activists into the country.
However, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent, has family living in the West Bank and was planning on staying briefly to visit them after the overtly political trip with Rep. Omar.
Rep. Tlaib was very sad on Twitter and used her grandmother to garner sympathy.
My sity wanted to pick figs w/ me. I broke down reading this & worry every single day after I won for my family's safety. My cousin was texting me which photo of @IlhanMN & I they should put on a welcoming poster when I heard the news. I couldn't tell her.https://t.co/TneIQHwDgO

Then she got political. She insists that it’s those damned Israelis who are so intolerant!
Silencing me & treating me like a criminal is not what she wants for me. It would kill a piece of me. I have decided that visiting my grandmother under these oppressive conditions stands against everything I believe in–fighting against racism, oppression & injustice. https://t.co/z5t5j3qk4H

This woman right here is my sity. She deserves to live in peace & with human dignity. I am who I am because of her. The decision by Israel to bar her granddaughter, a U.S. Congresswoman, is a sign of weakness b/c the truth of what is happening to Palestinians is frightening. pic.twitter.com/GGcFLiH9N3
— Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) August 15, 2019
Tlaib can dish it out but not take it, apparently. The BDS movement itself would target organizations and individuals that disagree with them that Israel is a “colonial apartheid state” that “discriminates against Palestinians.”
So, she wants to target “Zionists” but doesn’t like it when she is called out for her bigotry.
And bigotry is exactly what it is.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement about the decision. It was posted as a Twitter thread.
Here is a bit of that thread:
For instance: they listed the destination of their trip as Palestine and not Israel, and unlike all Democratic and Republican members of Congress who have visited Israel, they did not request to meet any Israeli officials, either from the government or the opposition.
— Prime Minister of Israel (@IsraeliPM) August 15, 2019
In addition, the organization that is funding their trip is Miftah, which is an avid supporter of BDS, and among whose members are those who have expressed support for terrorism against Israel.
— Prime Minister of Israel (@IsraeliPM) August 15, 2019
Nonetheless, if Congresswoman Tlaib submits a humanitarian request to visit her relatives, the minister of interior has announced that he will consider her request on the condition that she pledges not to act to promote boycotts against Israel during her visit.
— Prime Minister of Israel (@IsraeliPM) August 15, 2019
That Miftah organization is a real problem. The organization had published neo-Nazi propaganda and articles praising female suicide bombers and pushed the medieval-era anti-Semitic bigotry of “blood libel” — the idea that Jews use the blood of Christians in their Passover ritual.
Worth emphasizing again: Miftah, who were meant to be the tour guides for @RashidaTlaib and @Ilhan, published a neo-Nazi article that complained about Jewish control of the media and how it portrays white racists negatively.
Nothing about Zionism. Purely Jew-hatred. pic.twitter.com/KK42BpF0u4

This is really a shame, though: The organization organizing Tlaib & Omar's trip promoted an anti-Semitic blood libel: “Much of the chatter and gossip about Jewish blood rituals in Europe are real; the Jews used blood of Christians in the Jewish Passover.”https://t.co/U4qpSz28SS
— Batya Ungar-Sargon (@bungarsargon) August 16, 2019
Miftah also suggests that Israel — the historic homeland of Jews for thousands of years — isn’t an appropriate place for a Jewish state.
Under the heading "Is Israel the Only Possible Homeland for Jews?", this article questioning the appropriateness of Israel as the location of a Jewish homeland was posted by Miftah, one of the sponsors of the proposed Tlaib/Omar visit to Israel:https://t.co/KX1PwrZGy1 pic.twitter.com/eMPOfhopYQ

"Were not under-populated Birobidzhan, Uganda or Argentina better opportunities to build an Israel?… Who knows, as that reality sinks into Israel consciousness, Jews might look at Birobidzhan with a fresh eye."

This group was co-sponsoring the visit by Reps. Omar and Tlaib.
“Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are…”
Despite Tlaib’s overt support for Palestine, her advocacy for the BDS movement, not joining other bipartisan members of Congress on their recent trip to Israel, not wanting to meet with any Israeli government officials, and her connections to vocal anti-Semites, the Prime Minister said that a humanitarian trip to visit her grandmother in the West Bank would still be considered. She just had to agree to a few conditions.
Tlaib did just that in a letter to the Israeli Minister of the Interior, Aryeh Deri.
But now she’s crying foul.
The Israeli Minister of the Interior wasn’t having it. In a scathing pair of tweets, he lambasted Tlaib in a manner reminiscent of a quote attributed to Israel’s Iron Lady, Golda Meir.
Minister Deri wrote:
I approved her request as a gesture of goodwill on a humanitarian basis, but it was just a provocative request, aimed at bashing the State of Israel. Apparently her hate for Israel overcomes her love for her grandmother.

The unverified quote by Golda Meir is similar, “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”
Reactions on Twitter were… insightful.
The U.S. Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman issued a statement saying, “This trip, pure and simple, is nothing more than to fuel the BDS engine that Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar so vigorously support.”
Please read my attached statement with regard to the decision of the Government of Israel to deny entry to BDS activists, Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, in accordance with its national laws. pic.twitter.com/q9M2N1uRkr

To be clear, Israel blocked Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from visiting after they:
1. Listed the destination of their trip as “Palestine,” instead of Israel
2. Did not request a single meeting with ANY Israeli officials, which goes against bipartisan tradition https://t.co/bzCswtyRm2

First Rashida Tlaib asked Israel for permission to see her grandmother, and Israel agreed to let her in. Now she says she WON'T go and says she is oppressed?
This stunt was never about family, it’s only about anti-Semitism and her hatred of Israel! pic.twitter.com/tJ64zkxm3E

So @RashidaTlaib outright lied, exploited her grandma ('sity') for an international talking point to only then throw her under the bus for political games with the Israeli govt all on behalf of her MI constituency.
I think Tlaib has more #Hamas training than she cares to admit. https://t.co/HiRZY1ZgkD

So @RashidaTlaib lied. She sent this, Israel accepted her request, then she made a public spectacle about declining their acceptance while pretending this letter was never sent. This is an absolute embarrassment to Congress. Good grief. https://t.co/psJBMWXZDv

In June, Tlaib had made an appeal for a PLO leader, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, to be permitted in the United States. When news of President Trump was saying that Congresswomen Omar and Tlaib shouldn’t go to Israel, Dr. Ashrawi tweeted that the weren’t going to Israel, but to “Palestine.”
Only June 23 of this year, @RashidaTlaib called for @DrHananAshrawi, a member of PLO Executive Committee, to be allowed to come to the US.
On Aug 11, Ashrawi said of the Tlaib-Omar trip, "They’re coming to Palestine, not Israel!", effectively denying Israel's existence. https://t.co/q0RRUxwEPI pic.twitter.com/RkWu3Q9lNs

The best were these Tweets:
News flash: @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib never said anything about visiting Israel, this is their official schedule headline.
Perhaps Palestine will still allow them to enter. pic.twitter.com/R25OWL5qFm

Why is it that #BDS supporters don't expect to be BDS-ed back?#Squad#IlhanOmar #RashidaTlaib pic.twitter.com/yuVc08XTBI

Huge congrats to Rashida Tlaib, whose bigotry and unparalleled political skills have joined forces to explode her grievance narrative, shift the PR battle back into Israel’s favor & gratuitously shun her own grandmother👌
— Guy Benson (@guypbenson) August 16, 2019
Rep. Rashida Tlaib chose to boycott her own grandmother instead of agreeing to not be anti-Semitic on a trip to Israel. That’s really all you need to know, isn’t it?
