Just how nervous and desperate are the Dems getting about 2020? Some are setting their hopes on getting a ‘ringer’ to join the race.
Michael Moore had the dubious distinction of accurately reading the tea leaves when Trump spoke to the people of Michigan in their own language.
Remember Trump’s quip about Mexico and Michigan? How where you build cars and can’t drink the water have switched under Democrat oversight? The voters sure did.
Moore realized Trump was tapping into something real there and started sounding the alarm. It was too little, too late.
And Moore’s worst fear came to light — a Republican presidency.
Ok, maybe it’s not his WORST fear. A calorie-restricted diet, falling into obscurity, or actually having to break a sweat to earn a living might edge out that fear. But it was certainly his political worst-case scenario.
Until now. Now he’s afraid of something even ‘worse’ — a second Trump term! And the current crop of Dem ‘contenders’ isn’t inspiring him, either. He is calling for a ‘ringer’.
You guessed it — he wants Michelle Obama to jump into the race.
Great, just what America needs most, a daily dose of Barack’s ‘bitter half’.
Fortunately for us, those of us who consume the news won’t need to worry about that nightmare scenario. (Not that we’re worried we would lose, we’re just glad she finally went away.) Michelle was asked about this very possibility by 12-year-old journalist Hilde Lysiak for Amtrack’s magazine “the National”.
Obama described how her upbringing in Chicago and her education had shaped her. When asked if there was “even a one percent chance” that she would consider running for president, Obama was strident.
“Just between us, and the readers of this magazine—there’s zero chance,” she said. “There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me.”
