BETO: Dems Are Coming For Your ‘Weapons Of War’ With A ‘Hell Yeah’

He showed his ignorance by tweeting exactly what sort of gun he’s expecting to take out of your hands. Dude — you’ve watched one too many movies.

There was a weird vibe in the Democratic debates last night. Everyone on stage was practically tripping over themselves to gush over how Robert Francis O’Rourke (the Irish dude with the bogus latino nickname) was so amazing in El Paso. And why did they all gush over him? Because he’s the face of their party’s current view toward gun ownership.

Not only is he wanting the Government to infringe on a right the Constitution explicitly said would NOT be infringed, but he’s urging private businesses to play a role in crushing the rights he takes so lightly.

This is EXACTLY the direction we were warning the Democrats were going to go, even when they swore up and down they were not coming after our guns.

Here’s what he THINKS he’s coming to take from people. Look carefully at that image.

Is that a GRENADE launcher? Has he watched one too many Schwarzenegger flicks?

This is exactly why we can’t trust Democrats at their word on their ‘evolving’ positions. Hillary tried to tell us she wasn’t coming for our Second Amendment rights. But does anyone seriously believe that if 2016 had gone the other way she would be standing opposed to the Democrats’ demands for ‘common-sense gun control’? Of course not.

How seriously can we take the promises of a Democrat? You don’t have to go back to Obama’s ‘evolving’ understanding of marriage. Just look back a single year, when Beto was campaigning to take Ted Cruz’s job.

Does THIS guy…

After sharing an emotional anecdote about children who died at the hands of a mass shooter in Odessa, Texas, on Sept. 1, O’Rourke said, “H-ll, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”

Sound like THIS guy…?

“I own an AR-15,” said host Chad Hasty. “A lot of our listeners own AR-15s. Why should they not have one?”

“Well, to be clear, they should have them. If you purchased that AR-15, if you own it, keep it. Continue to use it responsibly,” said O’Rourke. “I think Texas has a real opportunity to lead on this issue right now because we so jealously guard that Second Amendment. We believe in it. We’ll defend it.”

O’Rourke continued, “We have this proud, rich tradition of hunting, of owning guns for self-defense, for sport, for collection.”

“Doesn’t that punish the responsible gun owner?” asked Hasty. “Isn’t it punishing the good guys who are out there, the majority?”

“I don’t think so, and again, we support the Second Amendment. If you own a gun, keep that gun. Nobody wants to take it away from you — at least I don’t want to do that.”

That second quote was Beto being interviewed only about a year ago.

The problem with Democrats IS their ‘progressivism’. The goalposts are NOT set firmly in one place. Their goal is the ever-expanding horizon of some imagined utopia where the government is finally big enough and powerful enough to solve all our problems.

(Such a government is the plaything of tyrants.)

They had a mandatory government gun buy-back in 2012, didn’t they? Go ahead and ask the good citizens of Venezuela how trusting that government benevolence has worked out for them.

And THAT is EXACTLY the reason the Framers AND the Second Amendment advocates will continue to say ‘from my cold dead hands’.

It’s not because they have a fixation on violence… it’s because we hold our freedoms as precious enough to deserve defending.

There was a time when even Democrats would have understood that.
