EPIC: NRA Member Tears The San Francisco Board Of Supervisors A New One

It’s easy enough for wannabe Bigwigs to sling slurs at people they’ve never met. But THIS guy is not taking it lying down.

It wasn’t so long ago that The San Francisco Board Of Supervisors unanimously voted to declare the NRA as a ‘domestic terrorist group’.

It had no force of law. But it sets a precedent that other elected bodies may decide to try using to wield political power a group for which they have absolute contempt.

This resolution was made at the urging of un-elected Supervisor Catherine Stefani, it’s sponsor.

[Stefani] said the NRA was responsible for the recent mass shootings seen across the nation and alleged the NRA actively conspires to, “put weapons in the hands of those who would harm and terrorize us.”

Ryan Fournier has a strong reply to their cowardly accusation.

After talking about the history and membership of the ‘oldest civil rights organization in America’, he challenges the ridiculous and stupid accusation that they are somehow ‘terrorists’.

…To date, despite the lies promulgated by Stefani, exactly zero NRA members have carried out mass shootings.

In fact, NRA members, such as Stephen Willeford, have stopped those trying to carry out domestic terrorist attacks. Willeford stopped the Sutherland Springs shooting that took the lives of 26 innocent people when he shot and pursued the suspect that had opened fired inside a church.

But the reason that the passage of this resolution cannot be taken lightly is not simply the fact that a good organization has been slandered. It also represents a glaring problem in modern American politics. Democratic politicians have abandoned any attempts to solve any real problems.

Instead, they seek only to scapegoat innocent targets in order to distract from their utter incompetence. In doing so, they cheapen evil, and lessen the gravity of real tragedy.

And that’s the point, isn’t it?

If they have a foil, some formless, faceless enemy ‘out there’ that they can dress up and demonize any way they want, they will be able to distract people from the problems right in front of their own noses.

Rats? Feces? Homeless? Crime?

What do you mean ‘do something about it’? We’re far too busy fighting for you in other ways… taking on the big bad bogeyman with meaningless resolutions for a pretense of leadership.

The really annoying problem with that tactic is the tendency for others to copy it.
