We already knew Cruz could hold his own on the Basketball court, but to dunk like this on a future Hall-of-Famer is something else entirely.
Cruz, who recently came back from a visit to Hong Kong, had some strong words of criticism for the Chinese treatment of the protesters.
US Sen. Ted Cruz on Saturday condemned China’s handling of pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, saying suppression of free speech in the territory showed fear from what he called a “dictatorship” in Beijing.
“The Chinese Communist government, I believe, is terrified of the protesters in the streets in Hong Kong,” the Texas Republican told reporters at an afternoon meeting at the US consul general’s residence in the Chinese special administrative region.
“President Xi is terrified of millions of people in Hong Kong but even more than that millions of people in China yearning to live free.”…”A protester has power that makes the dictatorship tremble,” Cruz said, comparing a man shot in the chest by a Hong Kong police officer last week to the protester who stared down a column of tanks in Tiananmen Square during the 1989 anti-government protests.

With that as a backdrop, TMZ caught up with the Senator at an airport and asked about Lebron’s recent statement criticizing the ‘negative consequences’ of free speech, and saying people needed to ‘educate’ themselves.

Ted Cruz had a lot to say about Lebron kissing up to Chinese tyrants to pad his wallet while so many in Hong Kong are standing up for their freedom.
Cruz praised the original pro-Hong Kong tweet that got this controversy rolling.
Then he turned his attention to Lebron. Here are a few quotes:

“We don’t need to embrace censorship and propaganda.”

As for Lebron backpedaling and claiming not to be political, that’s a straight-up lie.
