USOFF: Digging Into That LONG List Of Genders… Here’s What You Might Not Know

Back in November of last year, Ilana Kowarski reported that when it comes to college admissions decisions, there is one factor that influences the decision-making process that college hopefuls may not realize: gender. “I have seen that gender does come into play in college admissions,” Kristen Moon, an independent college admissions consultant and the founder of the MoonPrep.com admissions consulting firm, wrote in an email. “The majority of universities are striving for diversity and to maintain roughly a 50/50 balance between men/women. When a university has a significant skew in either gender, being the minority can certainly work in your favor.” Now, that’s a lot of words just to say that, these days, your gender may come into question.

Among the 478 ranked national undergraduate institutions, it showed a mixed bag(if you’ll pardon the pun) for percentages of what used to be male and female…and again, you have to understand that THOSE terms are forbidden, among dozens(literally) of genders that are acceptable in schools these days. For instance, at Tougaloo College in Mississippi, the school where female applicants have the biggest edge over male applicants, the female acceptance rate – 85.4 percent – was 31.3 percentage points higher than the 54.1 percent acceptance rate for male applicants. It’s interesting that some schools use the TWO honest gender appelations, while others schools use others names that not just stretch the imagination, they pull it to the limit of breaking.

Just how many genders are there? This bit of research may startle you a bit…but I assure you that it’s genuine. “There are more than two genders, even though in our society the genders that are most recognized are male and female (called the gender binary) and usually is based on someone’s anatomy (the genitals they were born with).” If you’re a rational person, and with some years on you, you probably grew up knowing, for certain, that there were men and women…period. Right? Well, get ready, folks. There’s more “genders” than you ever thought of, coming down the pike. That bastion of integrity, Facebook introduced dozens of options for users to identify their gender today – and although the social media giant said it would not be releasing a comprehensive list, ABC News has found at least 58 so far.

What? 58 genders? How is this possible you ask? Easy. The current generation has been given a free pass to be anything, on any day, in any situation. This is not to be confused with the Army’s slogan of “Be All That You Can Be”, and, believe me, they’re worlds apart. Now, let’s see about those genders. The following are the 58 gender options identified by ABC News:

Agender Androgyne Androgynous Bigender Cis Cisgender Cis Female Cis Male Cis Man Cis Woman Cisgender Female Cisgender Male Cisgender Man Cisgender Woman Female to Male FTM Gender Fluid Gender Nonconforming Gender Questioning Gender Variant Genderqueer Intersex Male to Female MTF Neither Neutrois Non-binary Other Pangender Trans Trans* Trans Female Trans* Female Trans Male Trans* Male Trans Man Trans* Man Trans Person Trans* Person Trans Woman Trans* Woman Transfeminine Transgender Transgender Female Transgender Male Transgender Man Transgender Person Transgender Woman Transmasculine Transsexual Transsexual Female Transsexual Male Transsexual Man Transsexual Person Transsexual Woman Two-Spirit.

Aha, you cry out…some of those names seem to be the same. Not so, and if you were to call one of these people by the wrong gender I’m pretty sure you would hear about it quickly and probably in a nasty tone of voice too.

Now it just so happens that doing my research I came across what amounts to a “dictionary” of gender terms. It’s long, so I’m just going to give you the link, but it only explains 31 of them. Here’s the link.

When you get there, they have an explanation of why the terms are being used. I thought this sentence was particularly interesting, as it only serves to confuse those of us that are males or females: Always remember that when utilizing terms to identify someone else, the best practice is to first politely ask them how they identify themselves and then how they would like you and others to refer to them. Another place one can find out more about the ever-expanding list of genders is the PBHS Closet, and here’s the link to explain their list of genders: …some of which may NOT be covered in the previous lists. You see, when people self-identify they can become anything…it doesn’t have to even be human! Somewhere, I don’t remember where I ran across a “person” who declared that now “he” was a giraffe! Furthermore, “he” wanted to live in the zoo with the other giraffes! So we’re back, asking the question, “what are you?”, and getting replies that are as off-the-wall as anything could be. In today’s politically correct world, where the United States is the root of all the evil in the world, where the opposition party does nothing in its job description or follow the oaths they took, who would find it odd that a human being(can one even be called that anymore?) is a giraffe? If you go to THIS link: you will discover they’ve found 81 genders!

Parting shot: As a country we are not JUST on the road to oblivion, we hitched a ride on a rocket train at warp speed!
