Joe Biden Says If Elected, He’s Open To Nominating Barack Obama To The Supreme Court
The 77-year old presidential hopeful is still trying to appeal to Democrats who like Obama. Will it work?
Has the Democrat base moved too far to the left to even want Obama on the Supreme Court? Bernie Sanders and AOC, both open socialists, are now mainstream in the Democratic Party.
But Sleepy Joe is still trying to clinch support of moderates while pushing for extreme leftist policies like free healthcare for illegal aliens, abortion on demand without apology, and has tried to downplay his 1994 crime bill that is now considered gauche. Biden’s policies have actually moved to the left of Hillary’s in 2016.
Barack has refused to endorse his former Vice President, but Biden says it’s because he asked him not to. (Does anyone really believe that?)
Interestingly, Barry’s legacy has taken a beating at Democratic debates, with several of the 2020 hopefuls attacking the policies of the Obama administration for not going far enough. Sure, party elites might be distancing themselves from Obama, but that may not be where the Democratic base actually stands.
At a campaign event, Biden was asked the question about appointing Obama to the Supreme Court and he was not averse to the idea.
Only one President has gone from the White House to the Supreme Court — William Howard Taft who was President from 1903-1913 and was appointed as the 10th Chief Justice of SCOTUS by President Warren Harding in 1921.
Joe Biden says he’s open to potentially nominating former President Barack Obama to the US Supreme Court.
The former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate made the comment while appearing at a campaign event in Washington, Iowa on Saturday.
An attendee asked if he would nominate Obama to sit on the highest court in the country.
In response, Biden replied: ‘If he’d take it, yes.’

That could get awkward.
Despite being a “Constitutional Law professor,” Barry trounced on the Constitution and repeatedly abused his authority. He began unlawful wars without Congressional approval, appointed Eric Holder as Attorney General who was comfortable with usurping power to the federal government and overriding state laws, and Obama himself was committed to “fundamentally transforming” the country into his progressive, globalist, dreamworld with his pen and his phone. His Constitutional legacy is shoddy at best and even those on the left, like Garrett Epps at The Atlantic, have said that he has “left the Constitution weaker than he found it.”
The Obama Administration has had more Supreme Court rulings against them than any other administration in American history according to a 2016 article posted by the Cato Institute. And that doesn’t even count the recent decisions against his administration or the upcoming ones like the recent federal appeals court decision regarding the unconstitutionality of the Obamacare individual mandate which may lead to a Supreme Court hearing.
It would be interesting to see if Obama would be confirmed by the Senate with his horrendous Constitutional record, though.
Then again, that assumes that Biden wins the nomination and then beats President Trump… so maybe don’t hold your breath on this one.
