WATCH: Eddie Murphy Returns To SNL 35 Years Later… Gets Last Laugh At Bill Cosby

Written by Wes Walker on December 23, 2019

Eddie Murphy’s long-awaited return to SNL featured a star-studded cast welcoming him home again. And his zinger at Cosby’s expense reminds us that things aren’t always what they seem.

Those of us old enough to remember him back in the day, will remember that Eddie Murphy’s act had more in common with Richard Pryor than Bill Cosby.

He peppered his jokes liberally with 4-letter words, but he did it in such a disarming way, it was hard to be offended with him.

When Murphy was just a young up-and-coming 19-year-old comic, Bill Cosby took him to task for his foul language.

Oh what a difference time can make.

About halfway into his 5-minute routine, Murphy drops the hammer on the Coz, twisting the knife with a pitch-perfect impression in the process.

It’s a helpful reminder to be careful how you crow, lest you be forced to eat some.

Hard to believe Eddie Murphy is living a quiet life as a dad, isn’t it?

It just goes to show you, people can change, if given the right motivation to do so.
