Abortion Is No Cause For Celebration

The hit of the Golden Globes Award show earlier this week was, in my opinion, Ricky Gervais and his scathing remarks about the Hollywood elites and their hypocrisy. Though I didn’t watch it live, I did catch the replays and it was sweet to hear him jab the snowflakes who are used to giving grief, but not taking it.

There was one speech, though, that was incredibly troubling. Actress Michelle Williams won the best actress Golden Globe and chose to shine the spotlight on abortion rights. She used her time on stage to advocate for abortion, a right she said enabled her to be where she is today.

Her words were troubling. She said, “As women and as girls, things can happen to our bodies that are not our choice. I’ve tried my best to live a life of my own making, and not just a series of events that happened to me. And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose. To choose when to have my children and with whom.”

What she said is clear. Abby Johnson explained it well. She tweeted, “Michelle Williams wants you [to] believe that you have to kill your children in order to be successful. Well, I have 8 children and have met all of my educational and career goals. To say that we must choose is an insult to the strength of women and motherhood.”

Media analyst Mark Dice concurred and tweeted, “During her acceptance speech at the #GoldenGlobes tonight, actress Michelle Williams (who is visibly pregnant) said she wouldn’t have won if she hadn’t aborted her other baby years ago when her career was just getting started. Welcome to Hollywood in 2020!”

Matt Walsh added in his tweet, “Michelle Williams got up on stage while pregnant and bragged about killing her child, then the audience full of rich, drug addled narcissists applauded while crying tears of joy. Hollywood is a cesspool. Gervais was way understating the case.”

The satirical Babylon Bee summed it up well with this question, “Sometimes You Just Have To Ask Yourself, ‘How Many People Do I Have To Kill To Get An Acting Career?’”

Johnson, Dice, and Walsh are correct. Williams did attribute her success to be able to have an abortion several years ago. It is also true that those in Hollywood and liberals across the country applauded and were proud.

NARAL tweeted, “Michelle Williams made it clear last night that nothing is more important than being a reproductive freedom voter. Our ability to choose is at stake, and we MUST defend it at the ballot box.”

So, according to NARAL, nothing is more important than voting for abortion. For them, the right to kill babies in the womb is the single greatest issue our country faces and all are encouraged to support it at the ballot box.

It probably doesn’t stun any of you to know that there is a group called Shout Your Abortion (SYA) which has a website declaring, “Shout Your Abortion is a movement working to normalize abortion through art, media, and community events all over the country.” This group wants women to celebrate their abortions.

Did you catch that? Celebrate abortion!

The Left has gone, in a span of thirty years, from abortion being “safe, rare, and legal,” to an event that is to be celebrated and honored as allowing you to have a successful career.

All Democrat candidates for president are pro-abortion.

President Trump has been called the most “pro-life president in history.” We shouldn’t forget that fact as 2020 heads to an election. Remember what Dr. Seuss wrote, “A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
