Polls Show Majority Of Americans Approve Of The President’s Handling Of Coronavirus, Disapprove Of Media Coverage

Could THIS be the real reason some networks are ready to deep-six the Coronavirus briefings?

People like President Trump more than they like the press.

Bloomberg News — let that sink in — BLOOMBERG News is reporting the surge in public confidence in President Trump.

Some six in 10 Americans approve of the job Donald Trump is doing to combat the coronavirus crisis, pushing the president’s approval rating – 49% – to the highest of his presidency, according to a poll released Tuesday by Gallup.

Trump’s gains come as his standing has improved among Democrats and independents amid the viral outbreak, which has killed more than 660 people even as the nation has adopted strict rules limiting public gatherings. Trump’s job approval numbers are up 6 points among Democrats and 8 points among independents, according to the survey.

And voters are largely giving Trump positive marks for his handling of the pandemic, with 94% of Republicans, 60% of independents, and 27% of Democrats approving of his efforts. That’s higher than his general approval rating among each group. — Bloomberg

Now let’s compare the President’s approval to the self-proclaimed defenders of all that is good and true and righteous — the same Leftist media that pretends to protect us from his ‘lies’ while regularly having to retract and walk back bogus stories.

Of nine leaders and institutions rated by Americans in a new poll on their response to the novel Wuhan Coronavirus, the media fared the worst, and it’s not even close.

According to a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the media was the only institution that scored a negative approval rating among the public with only 44 percent of Americans approving of the way the media has covered the virus. Fifty-five percent disapprove making for a -11 percent rating.

Gallup also gathered approval ratings for U.S. hospitals, schools and daycares, state governments, employers, government health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Vice President Mike Pence, President Donald Trump, and Congress.

The next institution to score the lowest among the people was Congress, which garnered a 59 percent approval rating to 37 percent who reported disapproving. Trump landed a 60 percent approval rating to 38 percent saying otherwise. — Federalist

Imagine having nearly unlimited control of the narrative on television and other news media and STILL having lost the respect of the public.

Maybe this is a sign that the era of the media information monopoly is starting to crumble.
