Video Of Joe’s Flub Shared By Trump Labeled ‘Manipulated Video’ By Twitter
If the Media(D) and the Social Media Overlords didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have standards at all.
It’s no secret that Sleepy Joe has been having some trouble with speaking clearly on the campaign trail. From his poolside talk of his hairy legs and Corn Pop to his bizarre debate performance telling parents to “turn on the record player at night” he’s been a hot mess. Not to mention that he forgot that he was running for President and not Senator, can’t recall the most memorable line from the Declaration of Independence, nor can he seem to remember President Obama’s name. It’s been awful.
As can be expected, the Trump camp has been seizing on Biden’s numerous gaffes ahead of the general election.
White House social media director Dan Scavino tweeted out a video of Joe who seemed rather confused and mixing up his words saying, “we can only re-elect Donald Trump.”

Washington Post tech reporter, Cat Zakrzewski, noted that Twitter labeled the video “manipulated media” under its new rules for clamping down on the spread of disinformation.
Just in: Twitter applied its new manipulated media label for the first time to a deceptively edited video of Joe Biden. It was shared by White House social media director Dan Scavino, and retweeted by the president. pic.twitter.com/PggcCwMNkx

The video circulated throughout much of the day on Sunday without a response from the social media networks. After users flagged the video to Twitter on Sunday, the company said it had determined the video violated its rules against synthetic and manipulated video and labeled the video as manipulated content. By that point, it had been viewed more than five million times and retweeted more than 20,000 times.
It was the first time Twitter had applied a policy announced in February against fake and misleading videos. Facebook, however, did not remove or flag the video as misinformation, angering the Biden campaign.
New York Times tech reporter Cecilia Kang posted a statement from Joe Biden’s campaign manager, Greg Schultz, rebuking Facebook for allowing the clip to go viral.

The full statement reads, “We live in an era of increasingly rampant disinformation, and there are only two ways to address this toxic force that is corroding our democracy: responsibility and in a way that serves the public, or irresponsibly and in a nakedly self-serving manner. Facebook’s malefesance[sic] when it comes to trafficking in blatantly false information is a national crisis in this respect. It is also an unconscionable act of putting profit above not just our country, but every country. Facebook won’t say it, but it is apparent to all who have examined their conduct and policies: they care first and foremost about money and, to that end, are willing to serve as one of the world’s most effective mediums for the spread of vile lies. That is repugnant, and it should be called out for what it is. Their unethical behavior is not acceptable, and it must change.”
But Kang notes that there is pushback by conservatives.

“Disinformation” is the new disinformation.
We’re seeing an intentional and coordinated effort by established gatekeepers to equate political speech they don’t like with the entirely separate categories of doctored deep fakes, illegal content, and deceptive cheap fakes. https://t.co/mKTf9hzi5O

3) That’s their point.
Political actors are working the refs. They don’t care about fighting disinformation; they care about winning their political fight.
If they can win by blurring the line between political speech & disinformation, they will- harms to the public be damned.

Now, because we are not the Partisan Presstitutes of the Media(D) who feign neutrality, we’ll give you the whole story.
Cutting the clip does indeed put a different spin on what Joe said.
Fair enough — Sleepy Joe only fumbled through half of that clip and he was trying to make the point that the campaign needs to be positive. He said, “We can only re-elect Donald Trump if in fact we get engaged in this circular firing squad.”
But here’s the thing…
Joe Biden launched his campaign by pushing the Charlottesville “Fine People” Hoax and was never fact-checked on that by any Media(D) organization.
For the benefit of the press, I will include in this thread the many links debunking Biden's announcement gaffe-of-the-century about the "fine people" hoax. Starting with the transcript. Make sure you read the bottom part. #Biden2020 #FinePeopleHoax pic.twitter.com/3z8OJt3e8U

If the transcript isn’t good enough, here is the clip of what President Trump said:
President Trump’s favorite meme-maker, Carpe Donktum “fixed” Joe’s announcement video.

I’d also like to note that Joe anchored his campaign not just on the “Fine People” Hoax but also on the most famous line of the Declaration of Independence — a line that he forgot.

But then, Joe seems to be rather forgetful these days.
Joe Biden forgot Barack Obama’s name.
Let me say that again…

Political campaigns “deceptively” clip things all the time to make their point, and the Media(D) has always been complicit, but this is an absolute game-changer. We now have a very powerful online platform that is explicitly choosing to back one side over the other.
