In this era of serious political division, it’s nice to know that there’s one thing that Americans overwhelmingly agree on…
The Chinese Communist Party is responsible for the spread of COVID-19 which they allowed to spread and become a global pandemic.
At least that’s what a recent Harris Poll revealed.
A survey from Harris Poll on Wednesday shows that 77 percent of Americans nationally blame the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for the spread of the virus.
Another 71 percent said Americans companies should pull back from manufacturing their products in China, 69 percent said they believe President Donald Trump should persist in his tough trade stance against the regime, and 54 percent said the CCP needs to pay reparations to other countries due to the pandemic.
Despite the Media(D) outrage over President Trump insisting on referring to COVID-19 as a Chinese virus, a majority of Americans agree with the President. When asked, “Do you agree with the President characterizing the coronavirus as ‘The Chinese Virus’?” 52% said that they agreed with the statement.
In addition, 71% of Americans also agree that U.S.-based companies should pull back from manufacturing goods in China. This also had across-the-board support; 76% of Republicans, 66% of Democrats, and 71% Independents.
As countries around the world have ground to a halt, their economies taking a hit, people have lost their jobs, and China has cornered the market on Personal Protective Equipment like masks, Harris asked if China should be required to pay other countries for the spread of the coronavirus. More than half of the respondents (54%) agree that they should be held financially accountable.
Interestingly, President Trump’s “tough on China” trade policies were also supported by the majority across the political spectrum. Sixty-nine percent approved of the tougher trade with 90% GOP support, 53% of Democrats, and 66% of independents.
So, thanks, Chi-Coms, you’ve managed to unite some very divided Americans against you.
