WATCH: Cali Governor Gavin Newsom Says Coronavirus Is An Opportunity To Create A New Progressive Era

Obama’s not the only one with thoughts about ‘fundamentally transforming’ America… nor the only one unwilling to let a crisis go to waste.

Governor Newsom — although seemingly very cooperative with Trump on getting needed solutions to his State was asked about leveraging this ‘opportunity’ to push an agenda.

He was asked a question about using this opportunity to push ‘progressive’ ideas.

And was there any doubt as to what his answer was?

That’s right… he’s happy to use this ‘opportunity’ to push his agenda.

‘We’ve had some very deep policy conversations in this space for weeks,’ he says.

He started bragging about the wealth of their high-performing sectors, framing California as a VERY successful state but then pivoted quickly to income disparity and the lack of a middle class. “We were going from a 3-class society to a 2-class society.”

If you took a poll of the folks and businesses FLEEING California for other parts of the nation, one might have a clue that their ‘progressive’ policies are part of the problem, not the solution — and places like Texas are welcoming those businesses with open arms.

So, what’s their big plan?

“I see this quite substantively through that lens, through that equity lens.”

He will be ‘reimagining a Progressive Era.’

‘Absolutely we see this as an opportunity to reshape the way we do business, and how we govern. That shouldn’t put shivers up the spines of, you know, one party or the other, I think it’s a new for both parties to come together and meet this moment, and really start to think more systemically, not situationally, not just about getting out of this moment, but more sustainably, and systemically to consider where we can go together at this historic moment.

Wouldn’t want the opportunity of all that suffering to be squandered without ANY political gain to show for it, now wouldja?
