This is the kind of thing that we need to see more of.
O’Neal Saddler is a state trooper in Georgia. When the Black Lives Matter protesters came to him while he was on duty and asked him to kneel, he politely refused. He told them that he canceled his weekend plans with his wife to keep protesters safe, and when he was asked to kneel, he said that he has “much respect” but only kneels for one person.
Addressing a group of demonstrators, Saddler says: ‘I’m supposed to be out of town this weekend with my wife.
‘I took off this weekend, today, but I’m out here to make sure you are all safe.
‘Don’t go there with respect.
‘I have much respect, but I only kneel for one person.’
Someone in the crowd interrupts: ‘And that’s God’.
The trooper nods and confirms, ‘God’.
The officer, dressed in blue uniform with his state trooper patrol badge clearly visible on his shirt cuff, turns and strides away from the demonstrators.

Despite his courteous reply, he has been slammed on social media for refusing to kneel.
He responded to one of those posts on Facebook. He wrote, “If you know this person please pray for her. I will not allow Facebook to control my actions. Any person has a free right in America to do as they want kneeling or not. Please stop racism has to start somewhere. I haven’t done anymore or less than anyone. God be the Glory. Last please remember the actions of bad officers don’t make me or other good officers bad. the Floyd family and so many other families need prayer right now. So please pray [for] them.”
He’s absolutely correct.
We don’t have to cave to the mob.
We shouldn’t bend the knee because it is demanded–especially for political purposes.
O’Neal Saddler is right to stick to his principles. Only kneeling for God shouldn’t be controversial.
