HE KNEW: House Intel Chair Adam Schiff Was Briefed In FEBRUARY Of Russian Bounty Intel But Blames President Trump

Schiff’s criticism of President Trump falls flat when you realize that he knew, too.

It’s no surprise that Russia is helping militants in Afghanistan. Top U.S. military leaders, as well as Afghan officials, have long believed that Russia has been selling arms and aiding the Taliban.

Late in June, the New York Times reported that the Russian government was allegedly paying bounties to Taliban-linked militants in Afghanistan to kill U.S. troops.

The left and the Media(D) have run with this narrative because the leakers implied that the Trump administration didn’t respond quickly in order to cozy up to Russia.

The officials familiar with the intelligence did not explain the White House delay in deciding how to respond to the intelligence about Russia.

While some of his closest advisers, like Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, have counseled more hawkish policies toward Russia, Mr. Trump has adopted an accommodating stance toward Moscow.

Ah, yes. You can’t have reporting without some opinion tossed in there. (Perhaps that’s why the article required three authors–one to report, one to add the opinion, and one check that it conforms to the AP Style Guide for the Russian Collusion Hoax.)

So, we’re right back to Trump being “Putin’s puppet” and “Russian collusion” which is MSNBC and Congressman Adam Schiff(D-CA)’s wheelhouse.

On June 29, Schiff appeared on MSNBC and discussed selective details about the story to Complete Dunderhead™ Chris Hayes. Schiff spouted off as he usually does with all sorts of foolishness including saying that the President was putting “his personal interests above the nation.”

On Thursday, Schiff appeared with MSNBC’s “big gun” absolute nutter Rachel Maddow. He went off again saying that he is shocked that Trump “isn’t outraged,” and says that the President “is mad because it’s being reported.”

The thing is, as House Intelligent Chairman Adam Schiff was also briefed on this in February and didn’t do a damned thing with it, either.

In the above clip with Maddow, Schiff says that “the full House be briefed” on this, even though Schiff himself withheld the information from Congress.

Top committee staff for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, were briefed in February on intelligence about Russia offering the Taliban bounties in Afghanistan, but he took no action in response to the briefing, multiple intelligence sources familiar with the briefing told The Federalist. The intelligence was briefed to Schiff’s staff during a congressional delegation, or CODEL, trip to Afghanistan in February.

Schiff, who has acknowledged President Donald Trump was never briefed on the so-called intelligence, has thus far refused to disclose that his staff was personally briefed. The revelation raises serious questions that Schiff is once again politicizing, and perhaps even deliberately misrepresenting, key data for partisan gain.

Asked by a reporter Tuesday if he had any knowledge of the Russia story prior to the New York Times report, Schiff said “I can’t comment on specifics.”

Schiff’s recent complaints that Trump took no action against Russia in response to rumors of Russian bounties are curious given that Schiff himself took no action after his top staff were briefed by intelligence officials. As chairman of the intelligence committee, Schiff had the authority to immediately brief the full committee and convene hearings on the matter. Schiff, however, did nothing. He did not brief his committee on the matter, nor did he brief the gang of 8, which consists of top congressional leadership in both chambers.

It could have been because Schiff was so very, very busy doing something or other in February…what was that again? Oh, right. Impeachment of the President of the United States over a phone call with the President of Ukraine. Because clearly, President Trump is “Putin’s puppet” who initiated a quid pro quo with Ukraine because Trump was “cozying up” to the new President of Ukraine which is the country that had a portion of it annexed by Russia in 2014.

This has been the Democratic Party playbook of creating a connection between President Trump and “Big Bad Russia.”

Speaker Nancy Pelosi(D-CA) has kept up the “Trump loves Russia” narrative despite zero evidence of this. It’s disgusting.

Who has been tougher on Russia, Obama who had mocked Romney’s claim that Russia was a threat, then instituted a “Russian reset,” and said on a hot mic that he would be “flexible” on missile defense once he was reelected, or the guy that has been cracking down on the petrol-economy of Russia with sanctions, pushing Germany to cancel their gas pipeline contract with Russia, and making the U.S. energy-independent with shale-oil development to the chagrin of Russia?

On July 1, President Trump tweeted that he thought that the story was “Just another HOAX!”

The thing is, the intelligence report has been disputed. There was dissent within the briefing to the President.

The Five covers that aspect here:

Should the entire Congress be briefed on every single unverified rumor?

Do we need to ramp up outrage to 11 every single time?

The Democrats are fine with politicizing intelligence to “own Trump” and it’s just disgusting. The one who has done this the most just happens to be the current Chair of the House Intelligence Committee.
