McCloskeys Now Facing Felony Charges For Defending Property From Trespassers — Here’s The 411

We have good news and bad news on the update to the McCloskey story.

First, the bad news:

When a mob of people broke down the gate and marched down a private drive to the edge of their property. the McCloskeys called everyone they could think of to respond. They called gate security. They called police. They called the city.

And nobody was coming to help them.

So they grabbed their firearms and stood on their property rather than risk some of the violence seen when other mobs turned their fury upon a target even in their own city.

And now they are facing criminal charges.

Mark McCloskey was shocked to hear that a St. Louis prosecutor had filed charges against him and his wife for defending their home while refusing to press charges against rioters and trespassers.

“It’s a totally upside-down world, Tucker,” McCloskey told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday. “The people that broke into my neighborhood, they were all trespassing. The guy that recruited it, that planned this event, said the next day that he intended to break the law, that he needed to break laws in order to send his message. None of those people are arrested. None of those people are charged.”

“The prosecutor, the circuit attorney, has apparently decided that her job as a prosecutor isn’t to keep us safe from criminals but to keep the criminals safe from us. It’s a bizarre, upside-down world. I’ve been a little irritated by this process until today, now I am just flat-out pissed off. I mean, this has gotten to be outrageous,” he added.

McCloskey and his wife Patricia were charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon after they brandished their weapons on the front steps of their home when a group of protesters broke down their fence and trespassed into their private neighborhood. The charges, which were filed by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner on Monday, carry a sentence of one to four years in prison and fines of up to $5,000. — WashingtonExaminer

That’s right. With so few of the murders solved, the circuit attorney had no problem prioritizing THIS case for special attention.

But the Circuit Attorney will NOT be having the last word on this case.

The Good News

Parson, a Republican, said Missouri was one of several states with a “castle doctrine” principle wherein people could protect themselves, their family and/or their property in certain situations.

“Without a doubt, Sean,” he said when asked about a pardon. “I will do everything within the Constitution of the State of Missouri to protect law-abiding citizens and those people are exactly that. They are law-abiding citizens, and they’re being attacked frankly by a political process that’s really unfortunate.”

He called it a “sad day” for the state and noted that he has already spoken with President Trump, who agreed that the McCloskeys should not be facing felony charges for what they described as self-defense.

“They had every right to protect their property, their home, just like any of us would. If you had a mob coming towards you, whether they tore down a gate or not, when they come on your property, they don’t have a right to do that in an aggressive manner. People have a right to protect their selves, their families, their property,” said Parson.

He slammed Gardner, a Democrat, as a prosecutor purportedly politicizing her office, claiming to Sean Hannity that she has filed charges in only about 30 homicide cases despite 135 such crimes in St. Louis year-to-date.

“She says she doesn’t have the time and doesn’t have the resources and yet she will go out here and charge innocent citizens, private citizens that haven’t violated the law. It just defies common sense why any elected official would do such a thing.” — FoxNews

Why would she do such a thing?

Well, Eric Greitens did point out that Soros funded 70% of her election run. And he opined, “they are getting exactly what they paid for.”
