WATCH: CDC Director Redfield Tells Senate Committee That A Facemask Is Better Protection Against COVID Than A Vaccine

Public health officials wonder why we don’t take them seriously. This is why.

We were told by Dr. Fauci in February and March that we didn’t need to wear masks and then flipped to say that we should be wearing them.

Fauci has said that’s because after decades of study into the spread of disease, they just suddenly learned in the last few months that a couple of layers of cotton on your face can prevent the spread of viruses.

Dutch scientists disagree, by the way…

Dutch Medical Experts Have Said That Masks Don’t Stop The Spread Of COVID

On Wednesday, CDC Director Robert Redfield told the Senate Appropriations Committee that facemasks are “the most important, powerful public health tool that we have.”

REDFIELD: I’m not going to comment directly about the President, but I am going to comment as the CDC Director that facemasks are the most important, powerful public health tool we have. And I will continue to appeal for all Americans–all individuals in our country–to embrace these face coverings. I’ve said it, if we did it for 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks, we’d bring this pandemic under control. These actually–we have clear, scientific evidence that they work and they are our best defense. I might even go so far as to say that this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me from COVID than when I take a COVID vaccine because the immunogenicity may be 70 percent, and if I don’t get an immune response, the vaccine is not going to affect me. This facemask will. So I do want to keep asking the American public to take the responsibility–particularly the 18 to 25-year olds, where we’re seeing the outbreak in America continue to go like this–because we haven’t got the acceptance, the personal responsibility we need for all Americans to embrace this facemask.

Isn’t that precisely the opposite of what the CDC website says?

A CDC media brief from July states that there is a “growing body of evidence that cloth face coverings provide source control – that is, they help prevent the person wearing the mask from spreading COVID-19 to others. The main protection individuals gain from masking occurs when others in their communities also wear face coverings.” (Emphaisis added)

The CDC website states:

Masks are recommended as a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when the person wearing the mask coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice. This is called source control. This recommendation is based on what we know about the role respiratory droplets play in the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19, paired with emerging evidence from clinical and laboratory studies that shows masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth. COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet), so the use of masks is particularly important in settings where people are close to each other or where social distancing is difficult to maintain. CDC’s recommendations for masks will be updated as new scientific evidence becomes available.

So, do masks protect you or other people from you?

Director Redfield says that you are protected from contracting the virus but the CDC website says that masks prevent you from spreading the virus.

Do you believe that?

It was just last week that the CDC said that masks protect against COVID but not smoke particles which are MUCH larger than COVID.

WTF? CDC Says That Wearing Cloth Masks Help Stop Spread COVID-19 But Won’t Protect Against Wildfire Smoke Particles

Maks stop a virus, but not smoke particles?

I’d take Redfield seriously if he wasn’t touching both sides of his mask and waving it around in an enclosed room.

Also, why the hell should 18 to 25-year olds be forced to wear a mask if they don’t have any underlying conditions? They’re at an incredibly low-risk for serious complications from The ‘Rona. I bet this guy is all for masking kids aged 2 and under which seems to be the position of both JetBlue and Westjet, but not the CDC.

And what about that whole masks are only necessary when social distancing is not possible? We have some COVIDictators out there that are making masks mandatory outdoors even if there is no one else around.

But going to a BLM protest and shouting with a mask around your chin–well, that’s righteous and therefore COVID-immunity is guaranteed.

The mask insanity is out of control, and Dr. Redfield’s latest statement isn’t going to help things.

Besides, there are problems with masks:
