WATCH: 5 Highlights From The First Day Of ACB’s Confirmation Hearing

The first day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing was filled with Democrat hysterics, and some well-reasoned Republicans sticking to the facts.

It wasn’t the absolute circus that the Kavanaugh confirmation was from the get-go, but it still had a parade of Democrat clowns.

Every single Democrat decided to filibuster the proceedings by making appeals for Obamacare and fearmongering that everyone will die if Judge Barrett is confirmed and the ACA is repealed.

Democrats had giant photos of people who were so grateful for the Affordable Care Act. They related individual stories that had zero things to do with the nominee sitting before them. There was no mention questioning her qualifications.

There were no giant photos of people who lost their doctor or their insurance when Obamacare became law.

To sum up, pretty much all of the Democrats were the same.

The must-see moments were by Republicans.

1. Opening Remarks by The Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC)

Grahambo was pretty clear that we already know the results of this entire process — Judge Amy Coney Barrett will be confirmed and it will be a party-line vote because Democrats are all-in on their #Reisist to play to their base.

He’s not wrong, so why are we bothering with all this process? Just hold the vote.

2. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) exposed the sham opposition to Juge Barrett

Not only did he point out that this nomination isn’t a “breaking of norms,” and the opposition is not about her qualifications, but all about Democrats’ fear of losing their ace-in-the-hole to legislate from the Bench.

3. Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE) gave the Democrats a much-need Civics lesson

Sen. Sasse said that this was a reminder for all of the 8th Graders out there, but clearly, the Democrats in the Senate Judiciary Committee also needed the lesson.

He was pretty clear that there are things that are just not the government’s business and one of those things is faith.

He went on to clearly define court-packing and stated that expanding the court would create an unbalanced system of government.

4. Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) calling out Democrats on their religious bigotry

Sen. Hawley said that Catholics — or any other Christians — shouldn’t have their faith be a disqualification for a seat on a federal bench. That would be a religious litmus test and that’s not constitutional.

5. Amy Coney Barrett’s Opening Statement

Judge Barrett spoke lovingly about her family.

She also spoke about her mentor, the late, great Antonin Scalia, and how Courts are supposed to function — interpreting the law, not making it.

Judge Barrett said she didn’t want to have a “shallow and unfulfilling life” so she didn’t just focus on the law to the exclusion of all else or allow it to “crowd out” the rest of her life.

Watch her full statement here:

She was clear, poised, and just incredible.

Although, I do kind of wish that she would’ve been able to just shut down the Democrats’ nonsense. It was hours of tedious posturing that won’t make a lick of difference to the vote count.

Yeah, now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
