BADASS: Colorado GOP Congresswoman-Elect Wants To Carry Her Gun In The Capitol

Shortly after Boebert opened the restaurant, there was a murder in the alley behind it. Boebert went next door to the Tradesmen Gun Store and Pawnshop to speak to the owner, Edward Wilks. Wilks explained to her that you dont need a permit in the state of Colorado to open carry. The next day she started carrying a gun with her. The majority of her staff carries, while it is not a requirement to work there she encourages them to do so if they feel comfortable with it. Customers are also welcome to carry firearms on them as well. The restaurants theme remained heavily country western but revolves alot around the theme of the Second Amendment as well. Some lawmakers abandon the courage of their convictions the moment they are elected. Others hit the ground running. Lauren Boebert of Colorado is SOLIDLY in the second category.

While some swamp rats will shuffle off to Washington only to give a thumbs-down to their own primary campaign promises at the 11th hour, Colorado’s Lauren Boebert has substance behind her words.

She is all about a citizen’s right to own and carry a firearm and her first days in Washington have already reflected that.

After she is sworn in in January, Rep.-elect Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) could join an unknown number of lawmakers who also carry firearms in the Capitol, which is permitted under congressional regulations.

Boebert aide Laura Carno told the AP in an email last week that “this was a private discussion and inquiry about what the rules are, and as a result the Congresswoman-Elect won’t be going on the record.”

…Capitol Police spokeswoman Eva Malecki did not immediately respond to the AP’s or The Hill’s request for comment on Boebert’s request or the number of lawmakers who currently carry guns in the Capitol.

According to a 1967 regulation, federal and D.C. laws cannot “prohibit any Member of Congress from maintaining firearms within the confines of his office” or “from transporting within Capitol grounds firearms unloaded and securely wrapped.” –TheHill

Maybe if word got out that a few more like her carried, the next maniac with a political ax to grind will think twice before showing up at baseball practice.
