Pelosi Now Supports COVID Relief That She Blocked During Election — Here’s Why
Remember that bizarre grinning answer Pelosi gave on that Sunday show? Good morning. Good Sunday Morning. Was THIS what she really meant by ‘arrows in her quiver’?
From before the 45th President ever took office, the Democrats were hellbent on seeing that he failed in each and every political move he made.
Even Executive orders that were made entirely within his authority were dragged to courts to defeat or delay them. Ambassador appointments sat vacant for over a year while Democrats slow-walked their appointments.
She personally blocked the COVID relief that Trump and the Republicans were offering to provide to struggling small businesses — because the other side wasn’t willing to dump billions into solving the financial problems of profligate spenders like New York where were bleeding red ink long before COVID came to town.
Pelosi blocked that relief, while she and people like AOC pointed their accusing fingers at Republicans.
Now that they believe their grand project of pushing for lax election laws (she came back from recess over the USPS, but not for the bailouts), magnifying the COVID crisis and making it Trump’s fault, and then having the media help make it appear that Trump was the one blocking the bailouts — for her, and her party, the ends generally justify the means.
She’s actually admitting facts she would have claimed were a damned lie and a Republican conspiracy only one month ago.
She WAS the one blocking the financial aid from helping citizens. If they’re feeling serious financial pain, they are more likely to vote for political change. She knew that and was exploiting it, even if she had to hurt people to do so.
When asked what changed that she’s suddenly willing to talk bailouts, she admitted that what changed was the election. She is convinced her stonewalling and loosening of voting rules got the result she wanted… a change in who is President. Why else would she suddenly be willing to agree to an amount SMALLER that the offer previously made by Trump’s team or the Republican Senators?
“Perhaps you missed what I said earlier. Joe Biden committed to ending and crushing the virus and had a build better America initiative, build back better,” Pelosi snapped back. “A vaccine, answer to our prayers. An answer to our prayers of 95% effectiveness in terms of Pfizer and Moderna and there maybe others coming forward. That is a total game changer, a new president and a vaccine.”
“This has simplicity. It’s what we’ve had in our bills,” she claimed. “It’s for a shorter period of time, but that’s okay now, because we have a new president. A president who recognizes that we need to depend on science to stop the virus. A president who understands that America’s working families need to have money in their pockets in a way that takes them into the future, without any of the contraptions of any of the other bills that the administration was associating itself with [inaudible] before.” –DailyWire
No, Nancy, you’re not describing the Brave New World that Biden will usher in. You are describing Warp Speed, a Trump achievement both your party and your media accomplices have not merely thrown a cone of silence over, but downplayed and deceived the public about it at every turn — to the point of casting aspersions on these very same vaccines if they had — heaven forfend! — become a problem for you by becoming available to the public in time to sway the election in Trump’s favor. Even now, you’re looking for flaws in the rollout to criticize, even though it beat previous any records for vaccine production by YEARS, not months or weeks — and it financed research that opened up revolutionary new pathways of treatment in the process.

So, did Nancy admit to having made a mistake in blocking the bailout? Hell no.
“I’m going to tell you something, don’t characterize what we did before as a mistake, as a preface to your question, if you want an answer.”
“That was not a mistake, it was a decision and it has taken us to a place where we can do the right thing without other shall we say considerations in the legislation that we don’t want,” she continued. “Now, that is it. The fact is, I’m very proud of where we are. My chairs have worked very hard on all of this. They were not even happy with a proposal that we made the other day, before we saw this proposal.”
What she wanted was not help for citizens. She wanted a slush fund for states and special interest groups that help her party keep their greedy hands on power.
The civil war she and her fellow travelers were talking about wasn’t the ‘shooting’ kind of civil war… it was using the political machinery to hijack through apparently legitimate means the usual process of selecting leaders… making any challenge to that process seem — by definition — anti-American.
Evil? Sure. But it’s a politically clever kind of evil.
