With all the talk we’re hearing about the dangers of authoritarianism, you’d think more people would be interested in the key tool for keeping tyranny in check.
There’s one group that has a proven ability for standing strong no matter what jackboot tyrants have thrown at it for a couple of thousand years. The underground church.
The church model building itself around a central building and a handful of paid staff has vulnerablities that tyrants can exploit and control. But for Churches that shifted to the model we see in Acts, it is like wrestling smoke. Tyrants just can’t get a handle on it.
And since the greatest tool to wield against any tyranny is the truth, the Church is a particularly dangerous foe.
How seriously should we take that threat of tyranny here in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave? We get into that in today’s show.
