The more pieces we see filled in with this sordid puzzle, the worse the overall picture becomes.

So, we knew that Hunter Biden is pretty messed up. Lost his mom, lost his brother, had an affair with his late brother’s widow. That ended badly. He’s had a long track record with drugs. And that’s not even getting into the various corruption and pay-for-play allegations that have become common knowledge.

The drama with the drugs, a stripper, and child support battle in which he refused to comply with a judicial order to provide his tax records were the icing on the cake.

He’s messed up. We get it. We knew that.

Then that abandoned laptop of his brought us into entirely different territory. It’s turned up all kinds of damaging information about himself, about his business practices (and those of his father), about China, and even something about that gun.

Keep in mind, as you read this, that this man’s father wants to radically change our gun laws because he believes that law-abiding gun owners are a threat to public safety.

In Hunter’s Own Words

Hunter Biden wrote a long and sordid series of texts detailing the messed-up and drug-addled relationship with his Brother’s widow. They were among the details discovered in that now-infamous laptop.

National Pulse printed a long and sorded account of what he was saying about his life and relationship with Hallie. Later in that same account (highlighted in red) is the other infamous text about Hallie’s allegation that he was sexually inappropriate around children.

This is the part explaining what happened to Hunter’s gun.

She stole the gun out of my truck lock box and threw in a garbage can full to the top at Jansens. Then told me it was my problem to deal with. Then when the police the FBI the secret service came on the scene she said she took it from me because she was scared I would harm myself due to my drug and alcohol problem and our volatile relationship and that she was afraid for the kids. The ‘Small’ Problem of Hunter’s Gun Ownership

Before we get to the ‘what happened after it went missing’ part, we should ask about how he came to have this gun in the first place.

Contrary to everything Democrats and journalists might have us believe, Guns are not so simple to come by. There is a background check. There are forms to be filled out. And one of form, in particular, is a problem for Hunter Biden. (See original here)

His official form denies drug use.

But this isn’t like lying about your golf score, This is, to quote his father, a ‘f***ing big deal’. Or it would be if one of the little people did it. But his dad was a state senator, turned VP, and now sits behind the Resolute desk (Heaven help us).

That was blatant lying on an official document, and (surprise, surprise) nobody followed up on that issue.

His drug abuse made news stories, including the one time in a rental car.

A police report said that Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden returned a rental car in Arizona that contained a cocaine pipe days before the 2016 presidential election, according to a new report.

Hunter Biden, whose legal first name is Robert, also left credit cards, a driver’s license, a Delaware attorney general badge, a cellphone, and a U.S. Secret Service business card in the car, according to the police report obtained by Breitbart News. He had rented the car from Hertz in California and it was returned in Prescott, Ariz., after hours. The car keys were not properly deposited in a drop box, but left in the car’s gas tank compartment. In addition to “a small white and brown pipe approximately 3-4 inches long,” an officer also found “a small ziplock bag with a white powdery substance inside all sitting on the passenger seat.” –Washington Examiner

Then The Secret Service And The FBI Got Involved… In An Odd Way

When it came to light that the gun had disappeared, after being thrown in a public trash can, the law enforcement entered the story. But it was not exactly in the way they might handle a case involving you or me.

The grocery store where Hallie Biden dumped the gun was across from a high school, which made the case particularly worrisome and prompted fears that the firearm could be used in a crime. While police were questioning Hunter, he also appeared to racially profile two Mexican grocery store employees, telling officers they were “prolly illegal.”

Shortly after police and the FBI — which was then looking into the Biden for potential tax crimes, an investigation that is still ongoing — arrived at the grocery store, two Secret Service agents with “badges and identification cards” reportedly visited the gun store where Hunter bought the firearm earlier that month and told the owner to turn over the Firearms Transaction Record, the document included above, from the purchase.

The store owner “suspected that the Secret Service officers wanted to hide Hunter’s ownership of the missing gun in case it were to be involved in a crime,” according to multiple people with a “firsthand knowledge of the episode.” So he held onto the paperwork until the ATF, the agency authorized to review the forms, could get to them. —Federalist

A Wrinkle In The Narrative

Meanwhile, despite his own son’s irresponsibility with firearms, a recklessness most American gun owners don’t share, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris continue to pressure lawmakers to pass sweeping gun control legislation and have both threatened to take executive action if Congress doesn’t do their bidding. —Federalist
