Democrats are thrilled to tell us that the man they have open contempt for has had his home raided by DOJ, with his electronics seized. (Except for this one thing.)

Why is their seizure of Guiliani’s tech a problem?

His son’s comment hits the nail on the head.

The events themselves are summed up in this short news clip:

The cynical explanation — one that fits with the abuses of government resources against political rivals that we saw under Obama — is that this has nothing to do with Rudy Guliani at all. This is really a way of bypassing 4th Amendment provisions that protect the 45th President from being unjustly targeted by those who have open hatred for both him and anyone on his staff.

Giuliani, as we know, was Trump’s personal lawyer. Lawyer-client communications are privileged information. The government cannot demand such information. No judge would give it to him.

That would be a minor inconvenience to a shady Deep State, obviously. There is a work around for that… forgiveness is easier to ask for than permission.

Federal investigators executed a search warrant at Rudy Giuliani’s residence in New York on Wednesday morning, as part of an ongoing investigation into Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine, a person with knowledge of the matter tells CBS News.

The New York Times first reported the execution of the search warrant. The Justice Department and FBI declined to comment Wednesday afternoon.

The FBI also executed a search warrant at the Washington, D.C., area home of Victoria Toensing in connection with the investigation into Giuliani’s business dealings, a person familiar with the matter said. Toensing is an attorney and Republican operative who has worked with Giuliani. —CBSNews

Oh, it’s supposed to be about lobbyists and foreign clients? Wait until they see Guiliani’s copy of Hunter’s laptop! (And some of the other explicit stuff we’ve been told is in there, including photos of girls of … questionable age?)

Oh wait… they avoided that piece of electronics like it was radioactive. For some reason.

In a statement released by his lawyer, Giuliani said the FBI “steadfastly declined” to take the hard drives when he “offered them on several occasions.”

“Keep in mind that the agents could not read the physical hard drives without plugging them in, but they took Mr. Giuliani’s word that the hard drives were copies of Hunter Biden’s hard drive and did not contain anything pertaining to Mr. Giuliani,” the statement said.

“Their reliance on Mr. Giuliani’s credibility tells you everything you need to know about this case.”

Huh. Just on his say-so they decided to skip the (possible) Hunter Biden laptop copy? Afraid of entering the contents into evidence — including photos and, even more damning during a ‘foreign influence’ investigation — business connections to the CCP that might reflect very badly on the guy sitting behind the (ir)Resolute Desk?

If Rudy were such a dangerous, hardened criminal, you might think they would check that out for themselves, and not take him at his word.

Blah, blah, blah — Ukraine lobbying investigation. Seems like the DOJ has been very selective in which Ukraine stories it wants to dig into. Almost sounds like payback for exposing the Pay-for-play corruption practices in Ukraine.

(By the way, has anyone done a Wellness Check on Durham? Haven’t heard from him in a while.)

The statement from lawyer Robert Costello described Wednesday’s action against Giuliani as an example of how the Justice Department is “running rough shod over the constitutional rights of anyone involved in, or legally defending, former President Donald J. Trump.”

…The statement also said that the electronic devices seized from Giuliani are “replete with material covered by the attorney client privilege and other constitutional privileges.”

“The search warrants involve only one indication of an an alleged incident of failure to register as a foreign agent. Mayor Giuliani has not only denied this allegation, but offered twice in the past two years through his attorney Bob Costello to demonstrate that it is entirely untrue,” the statement says.

“Twice the offer was rejected by the SDNY by stating that while they were willing to listen to anything Mr. Costello had to say, they would not tell Mr. Giuliani or Mr. Costello, the subject matter they wanted him to address.” —NYPost
