Dads can’t always be around to defend their precious daughters. But they CAN help them become the kind of person that a would-be predator regrets ever having tangled with.

Add security to a building, and a ‘soft’ target becomes hardened. Hardened targets are much more difficult for the bad guys to mess with.

The same is true of people. You don’t need the ability to bench press a Buick to scare off an attacker. The solution is simpler than most folks think: give the ‘victim’ some training and a skill set, and they can stand a solid chance of not becoming a victim or a statistic in an encounter with some would-be malicious scumbag.

As for the shambling turd dumb enough to pick the wrong ‘victim’ to mess with? We make no promises about how he’s coming away from this encounter — if at all.

Let’s talk about a real-world news story about why this matters.

One girl was only 13 when she became an international headline for all the worst kind of reasons.

[Editor’s note: Doug referenced two different books in today’s video. One of his own, and one by his daughter, Regis. For those interested in knowing more about them, we’ve included links to both, and a quick description in the space below.]

Here’s the book on how to be a Warrior Chick by Regis Giles — daughter of our very own Doug Giles:

From the book:

Do I want this to be happening? Why is his hand on my waist? Is he really fondling my breasts? What do I do? Why is he in a bathrobe? Why is he taking off the bathrobe? God, I need to get out of here! I thought this was going to be professional.

No one, unless they’ve been in the same situation, can ever really understand the stress and self-doubt one goes through when sexual harassment occurs.

Regis Giles’ new book will teach you how to escape the world of #MeToo victim and become the #WarriorChick you were meant to be!
