It wasn’t clear if it was Andy Ngo that had been attacked in Portland on Friday night, but he just confirmed it in a Twitter thread and on The Ingraham Angle.
Andy Ngo has been exposing Antifa violence in Portland, Oregon for years and the self-described “anti-fascists” don’t like that. He’s been attacked, doxxed, and vilified in the Corporate Media as (variously) an alt-right/far-right/right-wing troll/grifter which is a neat trick for a gay Vietnamese guy who (until recently) had been living in Portland.
Despite the vilification, Ngo’s on-the-street reporting of Antifa has garnered him bylines in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, National Review, and others. He was an editor for Quillette.com and is the current Editor-at-Large for the PostMillennial. He has also written a book titled, “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy” which Antifa supporters aren’t exactly big fans of.
Antifa members are also not fans of his Twitter account because Ngo posts photos and the identities of people who have been arrested in Antifa riots. This information is not considered “doxxing” because it is already a matter of public record.
Ngo was first attacked by Antifa in 2019, suffering a “brain bleed” after being hit in the head, and Antifa militants have made it pretty clear that they wanted to “finish the job”–they’ve been openly calling for his murder for years.

Ngo continues to face violence for his continued reporting on Antifa while corporate media outlets and Democrats (but I repeat myself) dismiss Antifa as “an idea.”
Ngo had moved out of Portland for his safety but had returned to care for elderly relatives. While he was back in town on May 28, he attempted to infiltrate Antifa during a protest to add a new chapter to his bestselling book. Antifa suspected that it was him and chased and attacked him pulling off his mask. Ngo sought refuge in a nearby hotel that hadn’t been boarded up. A crowd of Antifa “protesters” followed him and reported his location on social media. They were banging on the doors demanding that Ngo be let out. Hotel staff didn’t seem too keen on protecting Ngo, telling him to put on a mask and leave while people were banging on the window threatening him with a serious beating.
On Wednesday night, Ngo spoke with Laura Ingraham about his second attack by Antifa.

Here is Andy Ngo’s lengthy Twitter thread with his account of May 28:
Statement on May 28, 2021 Antifa assault:
No journalist in America should ever face violence for doing his or her job.
Yet on Friday, May 28, Antifa tried to kill me again while I was reporting on the ongoing protests and riots in Portland, Ore. for a new chapter of my…

the truth as the greatest threat of all. They want the right to hide their identities behind masks, and erase records of their arrests and alleged crimes. They want me dead for capturing these things and reporting on them. But it is the right of every journalist, protected…

beat reporter would do: I took care to mitigate the risks and went to observe Antifa first-hand during a demonstration at the Justice Center. Like many other journalists Antifa has tried to silence and intimidate through violence and threats, I had to cover my face and eyes…

Shortly before midnight, Antifa member John Hacker, who assaulted me in 2019, began asking me questions. I didn’t answer and attempted to walk away, but a group of masked people in black followed and surrounded me. As they interrogated me, one managed to pull off my mask and… pic.twitter.com/bsL5lcIfDg

In the chaos, I managed to seize a moment when my attackers were distracted and crawled away. As soon as I could get to my feet, I sprinted inside the only business I could see that was open —The Nines Hotel. I begged hotel staff to call 911, but they refused and ordered me… pic.twitter.com/CWxwFS1nMH

These lies will be used again to try to discredit me and other journalists reporting on Antifa, and to distort the facts.
But there is only one truth.

Andy Ngo has filed multiple police reports and even though he can identify some of his attackers, not much has been done.
Just imagine for a moment that this was a journalist reporting on the “January 6 Insurrection” and Trump supporters physically attacked any person who looked like that reporter. It would be wall-to-wall media coverage.
As usual, leftwing violence gets a pass in our Corporate Media landscape while an Asian man is being repeatedly targeted for doing the job “regime journalists” refuse to do.
Stay safe out there, Andy!
