Some things are a simple case of cause and effect. Chicago’s police superintendent names his city’s crime wave as one of those things. He’s ready to point the finger of blame.
That finger is pointing to the left.
For Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, a lot of the usual pushback to criticism of statements like his simply won’t work.
For one thing, it’s a little harder to blame a Black superintendent of police for being a ‘white supremacist while keeping a straight face. Especially with a track record like the one he demonstrated in Dallas where the press release Chicago gave to announce his hiring in April of 2020, Mayor Lightfoot described him as:
… a national leader in policing reforms as the Dallas Police Department became the first in the United States to institute department-wide de-escalation training for officers. Additionally, as Chief, Brown implemented implicit bias training, brought body cameras to Dallas and instituted reforms that expanded mental wellness supports for officers, increased diversity within the Department and published never-before-released use-of-force and officer-involved shooting data.
Now that he’s speaking out about why Chicago has a crime problem, Lightfoot may have come to regret the glowing praise she gave him.
Here are a few current stats from the fantastic website HeyJackass that provides detailed statistics that shine a light on why Chicago crime is such a serious problem.
What is it that Superintendent Brown blames for driving that crime spree?
Well, do you remember this recent story about AOC? WATCH: AOC Says She Wants To ‘Abolish Our Carceral System That’s Designed To Trap Black And Brown Men’
He blames the precise political ideology that drives people like AOC to make disastrous policy prescriptions like that one. He blames progressive soft-on-crime agendas.
Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown argued that judges need to stop releasing accused violent offenders before their trial to help stem the dramatic rise of violent criminal activity.
“We are arresting violent offenders, the courts are releasing these people back into the community,” he said.
A frustrated Brown said the city needed to “challenge the courts to render Chicago safe” by “holding offenders in jail longer, not releasing murderers back into our community.”
…In April, a 7-year-old girl was killed after being shot multiple times at a McDonald’s drive-thru by someone authorities said had been let out of jail on electronic monitoring.
Police have also pointed to other homicides, stabbings, and carjackings allegedly committed by people wearing electronic monitors. — WashingtonExaminer
By no means is this a problem limited to Chicago. Crime waves have been popping up like mushrooms across many major cities, especially where lenient Democrat policies have sway over law and order issues.
It’s nice to see leaders like Brown more interested in keeping the citizens in his care alive than he is in pandering to prevailing political winds.
It would be even nicer to see that become a national trend.

If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive
Much of the Left loathes masculinity and they love to paint Jesus as a non-offensive bearded woman who endorses their agenda. This book blows that nonsense all to hell. From the stonking laptop of bestselling author, Doug Giles, comes a new book that focuses on Jesus’ overt masculine traits like no other books have heretofore. It’s informative, bold, hilarious, and scary. Giles has concluded, after many years of scouring the scripture that, If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive.Â
