Dems are desperately trying to distance themselves from the Defund-the-police movement by blaming Republicans. But Tlaib is doubling down.

The bad news on Democrats’ attempts to ‘retcon’ their narrative (definition here) came twice this week.

From one side, Biden, Psaki & Co. got slapped around on their attempts to say that their party had never been calling to defund the police.

Not even their buddies at WaPo were buying the crap she was slinging. She got off light with only three Pinocchios.

In recent remarks, Psaki and senior Biden adviser Cedric Richmond both said that the GOP’s opposition to Biden’s staggering $1.9 trillion COVID-19 rescue plan was akin to supporting the “defund the police” movement, as $350 billion of the bill was earmarked for state and local government aid.

…”Some might say that the other party was for defunding police; I’ll let others say that, but that’s a piece,” she said at the time.

…”In response to our questions, White House officials said Republicans were ‘effectively’ trying to defund the police by withholding support for the coronavirus relief package and by proposing to claw back some of the $350 billion in state and local aid amid ongoing infrastructure negotiations,” the Post added. “In this case, there’s not even a line item to attach to the White House’s claim that Republicans are trying to defund the police.”

“[G]oing strictly by the bill text, lawmakers had no guarantee that police would get a slice of the pie,” the Post said. “What’s more, voting against a one-time infusion of cash is not the same as voting to cut funding, so there is little basis to claim that Republicans are trying to ‘defund the police.'”

“Overall, we award Three Pinnochios,” the paper concluded. —Blaze

‘Some people might say’, huh? How nice of her to give other people their talking points like that without actually having the ticklish problem of defending the lie directly.

Here is some video showing why that 3 Pinocchio rating was less than they deserved.

With crime soaring in big cities across the country, the left is desperately backpedaling to rewrite their role in the history that made it happen. But not the Squad. This is the direction they wanted to take us, and they’re putting their foot on the gas.

We might have expected her to dunk on the police. She’s done it before. she went further than that.

She doesn’t think Biden’s border is broken ENOUGH.

Here is Tlaib in a conversation where she is explicitly calling not just for an abstract defunding of the police, but something much more extreme than that.

‘We must eliminate funding for CPB, ICE and their parent organization DHS’.

That’s right.

The same government that can’t find a way to provide a safe refuge in America for Afghani translators that helped Americans while America waged war in their country has deliberately thrown the southern border wide open to all comers.

But she thinks what little protection our borders still have from the human traffickers, the criminal cartels, and influx of drugs, guns, and God alone knows what other contraband coming across that border is still too much.

Biden’s America: worse than advertised.
