BROKEN PROMISES: 9/11 Families Told Biden To Stay Away From 20th Anniversary Events … What Now?

Biden is stepping into a PR nightmare of his own making — it’s one even the news media will have a hard time rescuing him from. It all started with a campaign promise.

Biden loves to tell us how different he is from Trump.

This is true in many ways. One of those ways involves campaign promises. Trump catches hell for the ones he tried to keep.

Biden is a far more conventional politician … the campaign promises giving him the most grief are the ones he has no intention of keeping.

He promised to run as a ‘moderate’, and people actually believed that.
He promised to shut down the virus, not the country. (How’s that working out?)
He stood up in the debate and said he would not oppose fracking, but of course he did.
He promised he wouldn’t raise taxes on the middle class — all while spending money we don’t have.

The media (and now Big Tech) have done a pretty good job of running interference to see that he doesn’t have to answer for any of these lies.

This next one will test even their ability to spin a story.

After all, their go-to plan is to attack the opposition as moral monsters and discredit them. Even they would have a hard time running that strategy with the families of 9/11 victims.

The left may not hold anything sacred, but they know would be a bridge too far.

A message was sent to Joe Biden by 1800 relatives of the victims and their families.

Do NOT come to the 20th-anniversary memorial.

Joe promised to declassify documents detailing government evidence about the attacks that may or may not implicate important figures from Saudi Arabia. He has not yet done so.

The families are NOT happy about that. At all. And they are being very public about it.

The victims’ family members, first responders and survivors will release a statement Friday calling on Biden to skip 20th-anniversary events in New York and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon unless he releases the documents, which they believe implicate Saudi officials in supporting the acts of terrorism. The group says that as a candidate Biden pledged to be more transparent and release as much information as possible but that his administration has since then ignored their letters and requests.

“We cannot in good faith, and with veneration to those lost, sick, and injured, welcome the president to our hallowed grounds until he fulfills his commitment,” they wrote in a statement obtained by NBC News.

“Since the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission in 2004 much investigative evidence has been uncovered implicating Saudi government officials in supporting the attacks,” the statement says. “Through multiple administrations, the Department of Justice and the FBI have actively sought to keep this information secret and prevent the American people from learning the full truth about the 9/11 attacks.”

Among the documents the group seeks are supporting evidence found during a widespread FBI investigation into the attacks that examined alleged Saudi links and was completed in 2016. —NBCNews

It’s been 20 years since those days. The Saudi King at the time died in 2005. His successor died in 2015. The guy after that was formally removed from office and is being held in house arrest.

We’re not exactly sure what interests they hope to be protected since the power dynamics of Saudi Arabia itself have changed over the last 20 years, and some of the people implicated might not even be alive any longer.

The 9/11 families are raising similar questions.

…Brett Eagleson, whose father died during the attacks, told NBC he is certain the classified documents would reveal the involvement of senior officials in the Saudi government. Eagleson said he had been “ignored” by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ), and urged Biden to take action.

“We cannot in good faith, and with veneration to those lost, sick, and injured, welcome the president to our hallowed grounds until he fulfills his commitment,” the group told NBC.

Several Democrat Senators had requested the DOJ and FBI declassify documents related to Saudi involvement in July. Of the 19 terrorist who carried out the 9/11 attacks, 15 were Saudi, and a number of lawsuits have been brought against the country over its alleged involvement. —DailyCaller

Brett is one of the people who filed suit blaming Saudi Arabia for playing a role in the attacks.

There’s a funny thing you should know about a campaign promise to a special interest group whose endorsement you want, Joe.

If they feel like they’ve been played, you’d better hope they have no leverage they can use against you.

But with this group? The public relations nightmare IS the leverage.

Careful with those promises, Joe. Someone might actually expect you to make good on them.
