It’s easy for Joe Biden to be dismissive of the damage his disorganized cut-and-run surrender strategy has left in its wake, he doesn’t have to live there.

He’s safely bunkered in Camp David, or Delaware, or wherever he’s been hiding to keep the unpleasant reporter’s questions at bay hoping to ride out the fallout of his catastrophic errors in judgment in how the Afghanistan exit should have been conducted.

The same is not true of the countless people who have been left stranded outside of the perimeter of the airport, where the Taliban controls the streets and even the Americans have conceded that heading to the airport is neither a viable nor a safe option.

If you think things are tough for the Americans stranded there, you can imagine how Christians feel about the country being handed over to an Islamist group that thinks infidels and religious converts who abandoned Islam should face the death penalty for heresy. (Spoiler alert: their beliefs teach that all non-muslims have renounced Islam.)

The main part of the press release attached to the video, below, reads:

FIRST-HAND GROUND REPORT
What we are witnessing right now is the decimation of the country and people of Afghanistan. We are watching twenty years of work and the strengthening of a nation being destroyed in a single day.

The Taliban has a hit list of known Christians they are targeting to pursue and kill. The US Embassy is defunct and there is no longer a safe place for believers to take refuge. All borders to neighboring countries are closed and all flights to and from have been halted, with the exception of private planes. People are fleeing into the mountains looking for asylum. They are fully reliant on God, who is the only One who can and will protect them.

The Taliban are going door-to-door taking women and children. The people must mark their house with an “X” if they have a girl over 12 years old, so that the Taliban can take them. If they find a young girl and the house was not marked they will execute the entire family. If a married woman 25 years or older has been found, the Taliban promptly kill her husband, do whatever they want to her, and then sell her as a sex slave.

Husbands and fathers have given their wives and daughters guns and told them that when the Taliban come, they can choose to kill them or kill themselves—it is their choice.

Here is a video released on the day the Taliban took over. The voice and face are altered for obvious reasons.

You will notice, he isn’t running for safety. He’s staying there, despite the danger, for the gospel’s sake. That may not make sense to many, but for some devout Christians the math behind that decision, while requiring an intense level of commitment will still make perfect sense in the bigger picture.

You will also notice the tone sounds like a letter written to his family by a soldier who knows he may not see tomorrow. Notice, too, that despite the grave situation he’s facing, he isn’t whining about the personal loss he faces. He sounds almost reconciled to the fact that he’s living on borrowed time. Even in what might be this anonymous man’s final message, he is concerned about the well-being of others.

How many of us, in a similar situation, would be capable of even seeing past our own troubles, let alone caring for them?

Just in case the video is lost, as so many other online videos are, here is the transcript of what we hope will not be his final message.

“Hello dear sisters and brothers, I hope you are healthy. Today in Afghanistan is the first day of Taliban rule. I don’t know what the future of this country will be. We are not able to control our emotions because we’ve worked so hard for twenty years. All of our work over the past 20 years has been lost overnight.

Only God understands how much pain we have and how broken our hearts are. We are crying, not out of fear, but because our hearts ache for our beautiful country. It has now been destroyed by this savage and extremist group. Every precious thing of value in our nation is now destroyed. The whole world has abandoned us. Those who said they support us, have now abandoned us to the worst situation imaginable.

I don’t know what is going to happen to us. Are we supposed to live alongside the Taliban’s rule? My friends, we record this video today as a testimony. We want it to remain in history. We want to be remembered by our friends and loved ones that today we have been left in the field by ourselves.

But we are not leaving the field. We will fight harder and will continue in God’s work.

If we are no longer with you, remember this word from our UNBROKEN hearts. But please remember us, the great difficulties we now face.

If any of us remain, if our children remain, I have a request: Please do not leave them alone. Please take care of them. Please do not abandon them. I’m sorry I cried and became emotional. My heart hurts. Send this to all your friends as a remembrance. I hope this finds you under our Heavenly Father’s shelter.

Thank-you.

There was a list of both prayer requests and specific needs attached to the video. For those of you moved to help in either of those ways, here is what they are looking for…

The prayers they covet…

Please pray for the Afghan Church to have strength and endurance. They continue to lead Bible studies, prayer meetings, and are proactively evangelizing during the very events you are seeing in the news. Pray for them to be hidden supernaturally by the hand of the Lord just like in John 8:59 when Jesus disappeared into the crowd.

The Afghan Church and GCM believe that the best days are before us, and we will witness the greatest movement of salvation among Muslims from the ashes of this catastrophe.

Pray for those fleeing to the hills to be protected (Psalm 73, Psalm 91)

Pray for miraculous protection for women and children being forcibly taken and those that have already been taken for their protection, salvation, and deliverance. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-5)

Pray that the Afghan Church steps into her identity in Christ and walks in unity with the Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 37, Romans 15:5-6)

The needs they have shared are these…

We are storing up a “war chest” for our believers. It will include emergency funds and supplies to help get them to safety, to assist in relocation, and for medical and physical needs of the families. These believers that have fled to the mountains currently need essential supplies of food, water, and basic vitamins.

Between now and 9/11 of this year, an anniversary marked by the Taliban having clinched total control over Afghanistan, we are raising $500K to serve and support a network of 1500+ Afghan families and ministry partners committed to serving their communities with basic needs (food, water, shelter) through the uncertain days and months ahead. We have already begun mobilization. Get involved today.

Funny how it’s a situation like this brother in Christ’s that reminds us all what Christianity stripped down to its basics really looks like. He understands that Jesus calls us to a robust and living faith, not fair-weather fluff you see on hawked late-night TV.

If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive

Much of the Left loathes masculinity and they love to paint Jesus as a non-offensive bearded woman who endorses their agenda. This book blows that nonsense all to hell. From the stonking laptop of bestselling author, Doug Giles, comes a new book that focuses on Jesus’ overt masculine traits like no other books have heretofore. It’s informative, bold, hilarious, and scary. Giles has concluded, after many years of scouring the scripture that, If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive.
