Joe Biden’s administration knew the duly-elected government of Afghanistan would topple as soon as he left. But he was willing to accept that, and now he is dealing with the Taliban as though they are the duly-elected leaders.

Constitutionally, though, the rightful ruler of Afghanistan is their VEEP, who is acting as the Caretaker President.

He has not fled.

That caretaker President is taking a stand against a group of people who (according to Joe Biden’s leaked final phone conversation with the Ghani as recently as July 23) is comprised of at least 10-15,000 foreign-backed terrorists.

Ghani explicitly asked Joe for air support to help him push back the threat. That air support never came, because Uncle Sam was too busy ditching Bagram in the dead of night.

Their Veep had to pull back. He has retrenched in a provincial stronghold — one where Afghanis took a stand against the Soviet Red Army back in the day, and won — with all kinds of firepower to back them up. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam just gifted the other team with plenty of American firepower to hit back with.

Joe went out of his way to portray the Afghans as gutless cowards. That may be true of Joe, but this video puts the lie to his claim. The fighting for the future of Afganistan is NOT yet over.

As a famous old quote says, ‘The victor is not victorious if the vanquished does not consider himself so.’ And the fat lady has yet to sing for the rightful rulers of Afghanistan.

If you go to the 3-minute mark of this conversation Ted Cruz had with Michael Knowles (published on Aug 25, and probably recorded some time earlier) Ted talks about a conference call he had with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense in which they are already talking about the Taliban as if they are the legitimate ruling party of Afghanistan.

The Biden administration has been bending over backward to tell us that the Taliban and the terrorists are NOT the same people. Let’s see what they have to say about themselves.

A top leader in the Haqqani Network declared the group and the Taliban are one and the same, contrary to the State Department’s attempts to argue the two groups are “separate entities.”

Anas Haqqani, brother of a Haqqani Network member who is considered the Taliban’s deputy commander, bluntly told Newsline magazine over the weekend: “We are the Taliban.” —WashingtonExaminer

This is the time for the Senate in particular, or the Congress more broadly to make it perfectly clear that the Taliban terrorists will not be acknowledged as the legitimate ruling party of the Afghani people. We need to label the Taliban as ‘insurrectionists’ set to overturn the rightful Afghani government, and call out Americans foolishly legitimizing these terrorists as ‘anti-Democratic’.

Don’t you miss the old days when America would ‘not negotiate with terrorists’? Wasn’t that better than seeing America endorsing them as ‘legitimate’?
