Dems are going to wish they hadn’t set that impeachment precedent for something as trivial as that Ukraine call, because this is SO much worse.

Remember when whistleblowers were a sign of courage, and the only just response to their accusations was to impeach a sitting President for a phone call to a foreign leader? Let’s see if media types (and other Democrats) still feel the same way in light of the grenade that just landed in their lap.

Joe Biden has always been an absolute incompetent. That’s hardly a surprise to anyone. But despite some whoppers he’s told over the years — including plagiarized speeches — he’s always been able to tapdance his way around any accusations of being a coldhearted, cynical, backstabbing liar.

With Joe Biden throwing everyone but himself under the bus for the colossal failure of his Afghanistan surrender, the folks who know where the bodies are buried have stopped protecting him. Nobody wants to be the poor slob left holding the bag when oversight starts demanding answers. Nobody thinks THEIR political career is the expendable one.

Thirteen needlessly dead Americans seem to have been the final straw. Now the leaks have begun.

Everything Joe Biden and his loyalist Military Brass have been solemnly telling us about Afghanistan from behind official-looking podiums have been demonstrable lies.

By ‘everything’ we mean… everything. Right down to ‘the’, ‘but’, and ‘and’. Even the commas are questionable.

Reuters has decided to break from the pack and do some honest-to-God reporting, coming up with a bootleg audio and transcript of Biden’s last call to President Ghani back on July 23rd.

Reuters reviewed a transcript of the presidential phone call and has listened to the audio to authenticate the conversation. The materials were provided on condition of anonymity by a source who was not authorized to distribute it.

In the call, Biden offered aid if Ghani could publicly project he had a plan to control the spiraling situation in Afghanistan. “We will continue to provide close air support, if we know what the plan is,” Biden said. Days before the call, the U.S. carried out air strikes to support Afghan security forces, a move the Taliban said was in violation of the Doha peace agreement.

The U.S. president also advised Ghani to get buy-in from powerful Afghans for a military strategy going forward, and then to put a “warrior” in charge of the effort, a reference to Defense Minister General Bismillah Khan Mohammadi.

Biden lauded the Afghan armed forces, which were trained and funded by the U.S. government. “You clearly have the best military,” he told Ghani. “You have 300,000 well-armed forces versus 70-80,000 and they’re clearly capable of fighting well.” Days later, the Afghan military started folding across provincial capitals in the country with little fight against the Taliban.

In much of the call, Biden focused on what he called the Afghan government’s “perception” problem. “I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” Biden said. “And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

Biden told Ghani that if Afghanistan’s prominent political figures were to give a press conference together, backing a new military strategy, “that will change perception, and that will change an awful lot I think.” —Reuters

Typical DC swamp rat — he is more interested in the ‘narrative’ than he is in the real-world consequences. Joe knows things are falling apart, and rather than help him stabilize the situation, for a ‘smooth transition of power’ he insists that Ghani tell a deliberate lie, claiming the situation is stable when they both know it is not.

Joe spoke in terms of making sure the government survives, thrives, and even grows. This was BEFORE Bagram quietly evacuated in the dead of night without warning.

The Afghan president presented a very different picture of the forces he’s up against than the one Biden painted to America about a civil war between local rival factions. They had foreign nations funding and helping to coordinate an attempt to topple the duly-elected government. And when the chips were down, Biden still threw them to the wolves. Because 9/11’s 20th anniversary was coming, and he was hellbent on having his own ‘mission accomplished’ moment. (We all remember how that plan worked out for Dubya.)

Back to the call, what group of foreigners was Ghani so worried about?

Ghani told Biden he believed there could be peace if he could “rebalance the military solution.” But he added, “We need to move with speed.”

“We are facing a full-scale invasion, composed of Taliban, full Pakistani planning and logistical support, and at least 10-15,000 international terrorists, predominantly Pakistanis thrown into this,” Ghani said. Afghan government officials, and U.S. experts, have consistently pointed to Pakistani support for the Taliban as key to the group’s resurgence. —Reuters

Oh, an offensive of 10-15,000 international terrorists? That lines up nicely with reports that Osama Bin Laden’s security chief was seen returning to his home in Afghanistan after Kabul fell. Funny how things like that can happen when you set a rigid end date based on the calendar and not peaceable conditions, eh?

In following the path he had chosen, Joe was turning Afghanistan over — not to the people of Afghanistan — but to terrorist insurrectionists hellbent on taking it over, including a 10-15,000 member mercenary army to topple the government and take the country by force. He could have opted for a ‘smooth transition of power’ with those constitutional empowered to represent Afghanistan. Instead, Joe has rewarded Afghanistan’s insurrectionists.

And yet he still bleats on about ‘legitimacy’ and ‘being recognized by the global community’?

Do you hear any of the ‘mainstream’ press talking about the fact that the Pentagon was legally obligated to address Congress presenting the plan before taking any action that reduced America’s military footprint in Afghanistan below 2000 souls? No such presentation was made to Congress.

President Joe Biden waived a mandate in June that would have forced the Pentagon to provide a detailed report to Congress about the risks of leaving Afghanistan.

Under the federal statute, the administration was barred from reducing troops in Afghanistan below 2,000 without first briefing Congress about the expected impact on U.S. counterterrorism operations and the risk to American personnel. Biden waived the mandate in June, arguing that providing this information to Congress could undermine “the national security interests of the United States.”

…National security experts and Republican lawmakers told the Washington Free Beacon that the waiver blocked Congress and the public from reviewing the administration’s internal national security assessments prior to the withdrawal—details that could have been used to prevent or minimize the catastrophe currently unfolding in the war-torn country.

“If we had answers to these questions we might not be in the horrible debacle we’re in now,” said Bradley Bowman, senior director of the Center on Military and Political Power at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, who in April wrote about the statute and the likelihood that the administration would try to dodge it. —WashingtonFreeBeacon

We all know what’s coming next, don’t we? And because he’s already proven himself craven and feckless, he’s sure to follow Obama’s lead on this point as well. Get ready for Pallets Of Cash 2: Electric Boogaloo

At what point does the evidence for impeachment stack up so high that even Democrats can’t turn a blind eye to it — especially with the ridiculously low bar set by Pelosi, Schiff, Swalwell, and all the rest.

Check out Doug’s latest book, The Art of Joe: The Political Brilliance of President Biden. If you have left-leaning family members, workmates, or classmates, to buy several copies and place them in common areas. Make sure you have your video camera ready for when they pick it up and thumb through it because they will be triggered which will make for a great viral video to share across social media. Also, buy a couple for the GOP NeverTrumpers that you know. Finally, both the book’s cover and the epilogue, Notable Quotable Joe are worth the price of admission. We’ve included before and after Biden on Afghanistan. Jen Psaki will no likey this book, but you will. BTW, the book is 95% bereft of any content. Just like Biden’s head.
