Nicki Minaj tweeted about the coronavirus enraging fans, lefty journos, and… MSNBC’s Joy Reid. Minaj is not backing down even though she’s getting substantial backlash.

A fascinating thing happened on Twitter on Monday — Nicki Minaj tweeted about the coronavirus when it was revealed that she wouldn’t be going to the Met Gala that evening. Her fans were disappointed because she hasn’t made a public appearance in over a year. During the pandemic, Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty welcomed their first child.

In a 2015 MTV documentary, Minaj said that she was excited with the idea of becoming a “little housewife” taking care of her husband and baby and taking a break from music.

Here’s a clip that one of her fans posted when she announced in 2019 that she was planning on retiring to focus on her family.

Minaj’s retirement was short-lived, but she’s still been able to take time with her son while things were closed for the better part of two years.

It’s pretty clear that she’s not in a big hurry to rush back into the limelight.

So, when she was tagged on Twitter for not going to the Met Gala, she responded with her reasons why she chose to skip it.

When someone tweeted that she appeared to be afraid of COVID, she responded that she got COVID and had to be isolated for a week. Minaj isn’t vaccinated, but she noted that Drake revealed recently that he had COVID after being vaccinated.

It was around this point that the Fauci-worshippers starting explaining why she needed the vaccine despite already recovering from COVID.

Like millions of other Americans who contracted and recovered from COVID, Minaj has natural immunity.

When asked about an Israeli study showing that natural immunity was more robust at preventing serious illness than the vaccines, Dr. Fauci said that — even though we’re 19 months into this pandemic — he’s still not sure if people who have had COVID should be vaccinated.

Minaj, like many other people, has questions about that. Before the virus from China, natural immunity was considered to be a thing that protects someone from re-infection. But now that we have seen that the vaccine efficacy is “waning” fairly quickly, we’re not really allowed to ask questions.

She said she wouldn’t just get vaccinated because of the Met’s requirements, she’s checking things out herself.

Then things went off the rails…

She tweeted, “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

Okay, so that’s probably not from the vaccine… that guy should really see a doctor and probably take some antibiotics.

Interestingly, Twitter didn’t flag her post because it didn’t violate their strange rules on COVID misinformation. An official at Twitter said that it’s because it was a “personal anecdote” — but let’s be real, it’s probably her 22 million followers that gave them pause in taking action on her account.

But then an interesting thing happened… MSNBC’s token Black female host decided to weigh in on her show about Minaj’s alleged “anti-vax” tweet.

On Twitter, Minaj’s tweets were blowing up, and during the back and forth, she was labeled “anti-vax” even though she had advised people to get the vaccine. She even tweeted that she’d likely get the vaccine herself when she decides to go on tour. Reid seems to have missed all of that.

Minaj didn’t back down and she blasted Reid with both barrels. It was priceless.

Then she went in for the kill-shot:

Reid said that her blog was “hacked” and the FBI was investigating it, but there’s been no word on that for years now.

So many people want to get to the bottom of this mystery on what happened with Joy Reid’s blog.

On The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, hosts Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee discussed how Reid completely misrepresented Minaj.

But it wasn’t just Reid that she went after, she also blasted one of the editors of the Huffington Post.

And she shared misleading headlines.

But even though Twitter took no action, it looks like Minaj might’ve gotten in trouble with her cousin’s friend…

Oh well, at least she’s sticking to her guns and blasting the media for fake news.
