Eleven-Term Texas Democrat Switches Parties Because Dems No Longer Represent His Values– Here’s The 411

When an Eleven-term Democrat jumps ship over the political culture and direction of his party, that blows holes in talking points and should ring alarm bells for the party brass.

Especially when the guy jumping ship happens to be an ethnic minority. After all, Democrats, and their AV departments in the corporate media, have thrown everything they can at the project of convincing the public that Republicans are Racists.

In an environment like that, what could possibly have convinced longtime Democrat Ryan Guillen to switch teams?

His reason for leaving brings to mind Ronald Reagan’s answer so many years ago. ‘I didn’t leave the Democratic party, the Democratic Party left me.’

Guillen, 44, was first elected to the Texas House in 2002 and represents the 31st District, which extends north from Starr County on the Mexico border to Atascosa County, just south of San Antonio and approximately 200 miles north of Guillen’s hometown of Rio Grande City.

The district is predominantly populated by Hispanic voters and has traditionally voted for Democrats. However, Joe Biden underperformed there in 2020 as areas near the border tilted Republican due to immigration issues.

“Friends, something is happening in South Texas, and many of us are waking up to the fact that the values of those in Washington, DC, are not our values, not the values of most Texans,” Guillen said, according to the Texas Tribune. “The ideology of defunding the police, of destroying the oil and gas industry and the chaos at our border is disastrous for those of us who live here in South Texas.” –NYPost

It makes sense that Guillen’s reason would mirror Reagan’s. It’s right in the name of the movement: ‘Progressive’. There is no limiting principle. No endgame. Just a perpetual revolution.

If you need examples, of what that looks like, consider Martina Navratilova. The one-time Feminist and LGBT icon who came out as a lesbian has been cast aside because she objected to how the Trans movement was disadvantaging female athletes.

The Squad might play well with gazillionaire Democrat voters, but for people forced to actually live in the midst of the havoc their policies unleash, those Woke policies are not nearly so edgy or cool.
