The whole incident started with pearl-clutching over a meme mocking AOC.
The party that not only turned a blind eye to casual references of assassinating Trump and actually encouraged intimidating his cabinet is suddenly very concerned about people inciting violence.
In their imagination, every day is January 6th and they are the grand defenders of a Democratic Republic that the Biden administration is working overtime to burn to the ground.
Someone in Rep. Paul Gosar’s team photoshopped AOC’s face on an anime scene, where she was the monster being attacked and destroyed, and Gosar was the one doing it.
That led to an all-too-familiar scene in the Pelosi-controlled House. Republicans are being aggressively censured by Democrats who — when they misbehave — face absolutely no consequences.
A Struggle-session worthy of Chairman Mao ensued, with Cheney and Kinsinger in their well-worn role of quislings and hall-monitors.
The House voted for a resolution on Wednesday that both censures Republican Rep. Paul Gosar and removes him from his committee assignments after the Arizona congressman tweeted an edited Japanese anime cartoon last week showing him stabbing President Joe Biden and killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., before he deleted it.
The vote was 223-207, largely along party lines. GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming voted with all Democrats to censure Gosar. Rep. David Joyce, R-Ohio, voted “present.”
…”This is not about me,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an impassioned floor speech. “This is not about representative Gosar. This is about what we’re willing to accept. ”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the first to kick off debate on Gosar’s actions which, she said, “demand a response.” —ABC
What we’re ‘willing to accept’, you say? Funny she should say that. Republicans have been willing to denounce some of their own — but Democrats close ranks every time.
Some of us are old enough to remember how this same crowd denied Trump due process in their impeachment circuses, subpoenaed (and released) private information, including that of Republican Congressmen and journalists, and how the Jan 6 commission refused to accept any Republicans who have not already pronounced Trump guilty of inciting an ‘insurrection’ before opening the investigation.
Boebert, who has already been thrown under this particular Democrat bus, had no intention of taking this laying down. If the Chamber is being used as a forum for political attacks against members, well, she’s got a thing or two to say about the members opposite.
It was spicy… and it read certain uncomfortable allegations into the Congressional record.

After ridiculing the practice of digging through social media for excuses to be offended and stripping political rivals of their committees, she accepted those terms of engagement, and made them play by their own rules.
“This is a dumb waste of the House’s time. But since the Speaker has designated the floor to discuss members’ inappropriate actions — shall we? The Jihad Squad member from Minnesota has paid her husband, and not her brother-husband, the other one — over a million dollars in campaign funds. This member is allowed on the Foreign Affairs Committee while praising terrorists. A Democrat chairwoman incited further violence in the streets outside of a courthouse. And then, the cherry on top, my colleague, and three-month presidential candidate, from California, who is on the Intelligence Committee, slept with Fang Fang, a Chinese spy. Let me say that again, a Member of Congress who receives classified briefings was sleeping with the enemy, this is unacceptable and this would never be —
She was gaveled down as time expired.
But she had barely scratched the surface of the rich vein of material she COULD have thrown in their face.

If Democrats are going to behave as petty tyrants, we need to stand up like Boebert is doing to expose them as petty tyrants. And if that means we need to do a little bare-knuckle political brawling, like she did here, so be it.
