Something happens when a preacher walks verse-by-verse through scripture… it makes him slow down and come face to face with the rough parts that easy breezy churches are in a hurry to skip over.

But God put those verses in there for a reason, right? Not just the ones that thrill you, but the tough ones that punch straight through to the soul. They’re in there for a reason, too.

It’s all in there because He loves us enough to tell us the whole truth about reality, even the ugly parts.

Mark wastes no time getting up to speed with his gospel. It takes off like Hussein Bolt at the starter’s pistol. And right in the very first verse, we get hit in the face with one those harsh realities we all tend to skip over.

The gospel.

Sure, it’s a wonderful word that churches like to talk about on a superficial level. But dig deeper. What IS it? More importantly, why does it matter?

What exactly IS the gospel? What makes it good news?

There’s a reason churches tend to rush over that part. Because to fully understand the good news, you need to know what we’re being rescued from. And when was the last time you’ve ever heard someone talk about that?

Today might even be the first time for some of you. If you want to see what’s in The Book that so many preachers have been afraid to face head-on, and if you have the guts to hear it, let’s get started!

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
