Fear is a powerful motivator, especially for the people who stand to gain something from it.

There is a lot of motivation to shower us with good news. But will they delay the good news as long as they can?

Their perverse incentives to keep us scared

Nervous lemmings doom-scrolling through their phones, looking to someone to ‘do something‘ are seen as a wonderful opportunity for those willing to exploit it for financial or political gain.

Would St. Fauci, a paper-pushing bureaucrat, ever have risen to Avenatti-level media celebrity status — and keep it for almost two years now — without a nation gripped by panic that was looking for leadership to navigate the dangers that lurked in their path?

Of course not. Without it, he’d be just another lifelong swamp critter. And biomedical companies are making money hand over fist.

The same goes for our elected officials who have slapped ‘COVID’ on a lot of otherwise objectional policies and legislation to make us accept what we otherwise wouldn’t — ranging from obscene and unaccountable spending bills to questionable vaccine mandates that gave people their pink slips.

Bad news is a great tool for using fear to leverage power, and power is something that the powerful are notoriously slow to give up once they have grabbed it.

Good news on the COVID front

Might the supposedly ‘super-scary’ omicron variant actually give us the silver bullet to ‘shut down the virus’ that vaccines promised but couldn’t deliver?

Here’s what Sigal Lab is telling us.

The study, which is currently awaiting peer review, makes this claim:

Neutralization of Omicron increased 14-fold over this time, showing a developing antibody response to the variant. Importantly, there was an enhancement of Delta virus neutralization, which increased 4.4-fold. The increase in Delta variant neutralization in individuals infected with Omicron may result in decreased ability of Delta to re-infect those individuals. Along with emerging data indicating that Omicron, at this time in the pandemic, is less pathogenic than Delta, such an outcome may have positive implications in terms of decreasing the Covid-19 burden of severe disease. — Sigal Lab study (Pdf)

Is this the beginning of the end for COVID?

With the entrenched interests still pushing panic, that’s a stretch. Rather than over-promise and under-deliver, let’s go with Churchill’s answer. ‘…it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.’

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
