No other system of thought compares to the Gospel of Christ, but that is not the most important thing about the Gospel. Jesus appears in every one of the 66 books of the Bible, but that is not the most important consideration. The Bible contains thousands of truths and hundreds of fulfilled prophecies, but that is not the heart of the story.
Imagine a man appears claiming to have always existed. He claims to be God, along with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He claims to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He claims to have fashioned you. He claims to be the exclusive Way to heaven. He claims to be the personification of Truth. He claims to be Life itself.
What do you make of such a man? Former atheist, Professor C.S. Lewis, said there are only three options. Such a man can only be described as a liar, a lunatic, or Lord indeed.
“Who do you say that I am,” He asked the disciples. [Matthew 16:14-16]
The most important thing about the Gospel is Jesus himself, the One who paid your sin debt on the Cross, the One who saves you from sin, death, hell and the grave, the One who forgives you and delivers you to Heaven, all so long as you believe in Him and His work on your behalf, so long as you walk with Him in the newness of life.
The most important thing in the world is this personalized version of [John 3:16, 17]—
“For God so loved you, He gave His one and only Son, that if you believe in Him, you will not die, but you will have eternal life. For God did not send you His Son to condemn you, but to save you by His death on the Cross.”
The world denies His deity, calling Him instead a good teacher, the most influential person in history, a religious revolutionary, the first rock star. But we know Him as He is: King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Lamb Who Was Slain, the Good Shepherd, Friend of Sinners, Redeemer, Savior, Lord God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Messiah, Bread of Life, Holy One of Israel, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Alpha & the Omega, Master, Judge, Mediator, Chief Cornerstone, Author & Finisher of our Faith, The Word, Fountain of Living Waters, the Dayspring, the Bright & Morning Star, the Image of the Invisible God, Son of God, Son of Man, the Christ.
Make Him Lord today. Believe Him. Walk with Him. “And you will be saved,” says the Great I Am!
